Hope you were able to watch your O's and pitcher John Means toss a no-no today! First solo no hitter by a Oriole pitcher since Jim Palmer did it in 1969! So close to being a perfect game. Bonus for me as I bet the O's!

I caught the 6th on. I didn't realize it was a nono until the 6th inning change and saw Sea 6 0 0 0. Boy were Means and and the catcher in sync. I noticed he wasn't shaking him off and then Ben McDonald said the same at the end. Only reason it wasn't perfect is because he struck somebody out, low pitch and it got by the catcher and the runner beat the throw. Out stealing though. The last no hitter by the O's was 32 years ago Bob Milacki, Mike Flanagan, Mark Williamson and Gregg Olson pitching. That was the only one since Palmer's until yesterday.
Hard watching them though with so many who...s in the lineup. If it was the old radio days it would be real hard to tell when an Oriole was at bat if you left the room for a beer.
Back in the old Memorial stadium days I went to a lot of games, mostly right field cheap seats. Occasionally a friend's mom would get tickets from her boss, lawyer. He had season tickets right behind the first base dugout. One year I saw them live 40 times, 2 in Fenway on Weaver's birthday. Went to Cooperstown for Palmer's induction then on to Saratoga. Suggestion, never go in the summer ... the urge to kill the idiot with kids might overcome you.
Speaking of orioles ..... lived in this area 60 years and saw my first oriole a few weeks ago. He hung around but it's been a few days since the last sighting. I only catch who's out there when I go out to the kitchen so hit and miss. I had a camera out there but it just didn't work well on the spot I wanted it.
