Hummingbirds and orioles both made their first visit to the feeders this week. Also a robin nest with 3 eggs hidden in the rhododendron.

Male Ruby-throated Hummingbird arrived yesterday, was at the feeder this morning. Baltimore Oriole got here two days ago, singing from the same tree in which the nest was built last year. Colleen already has orange halves hung from a tree for him. She's also keeping track of the robin's nest in our neighbor's plow shed, which already has hatchlings, and we watched a parent bring a mouthful of worms back to the nest. Some warm, sunny weather would make it feel more like Spring, but that will have to wait a week from the looks of things. I want to do my handicapping and race-watching outdoors at Patio Downs like last season.
