When I first heard this song years ago I pictured the group as a black band. Anyone else have those thoughts? The funky beat was easy to dance to....The 80's were my favorite decade of music. the 60's a close second. What decade of any knnd of music was your favorite?

Wild Cherry was “from” Ohio, not far from Pittsburgh. Not sure where they really operated from or where most of the members were from. Donnie Iris was a member at one time and was also a member of The Jaggerz, famous for “The Rapper.” Iris went on to have a solid solo career with several hits including “Ah, Leah.” Got to see Donnie Iris and The Cruisers a time or two, after their more popular years, including in bars in Pittsburgh.

Ah! Leah! was a big hit in Boston area before MCA released it nationally months later. Pittsburgh and Boston launched it.

Nice one Hoop! Haven't heard this song in YEARS! When I think Boston rock I think Aerosmith or maybe Boston. I assume the members of Boston were from Boston...
