I am excited with the opening of the meet and even more excited to be back live at a track for the first time in 2 years as some pals and I have secured general admission tickets for Wed-Fri April 14-16. They wouldn't tell me just how limited it is but the sales process felt like trying to get tickets to a hot concert back in the day.

I can guarantee that I will have a least one Makers Mark on the rocks each of the 3 days I am there.

Hidden Scroll looked awful. $525,000 purchase in November.

Hidden Scroll looked awful. $525,000 purchase in November. He’s certainly an enigma. His races last fall at Belmont were awful, including falling down. I thought that Cox might have had him straightened out with a stalking strategy but nope.

His first two campaigns saw his first start as the best of the year. Might be doing a repeat in his third campaign.

I am back from a glorious 3 days at Keeneland (Wed-Fri). I never determined exactly how limited attendance was (all tickets including our general admission tx had to be purchased online in advance. Based upon having attended parts of probably 35 or so Spring meets there though, it looked like it had to be at least 50 percent (and maybe more). It was a really good value $20 per ticket on Wed-Thur and $25 on Friday but that price included a $10 food voucher, (for $10 you could get a pulled pork bbq sandwich chips and a water/soft drink), and a race day program. Alcohol prices were a bit steep ranging from $7 for a 16 oz tall can to $10 for a 22 oz draft and Bourbon ranged from $10-$13. The weather got better each day and for me betting-wise, Wed was treading water, Thur was a small loss and Friday was a nice day/ The highlight of that nice day came in the 4th race. (maiden special weights aged 3 at 1 1/16 on the turf).Forming that morning I liked the #2 Accredit with Sophie Doyle up, a bit. I went to look at her in the paddock pre-race and snapped the only paddock picture I took in 3 days, went back to my friends trackside and with about 10 minutes to post showed them the picture and said I just took the picture of the winner of this race. Sophie gave a great ride and accredit came through. The horse had been about 10-1 ml, but paid $37.60 and was part of 2 pick 3s for me. I am going to attempt to post the picture now:
