I've never been much of a fan of match play events but this weeks PGA event is being held at Austin Country Club. Nice track but never played it in my younger days of visiting Austin. My brother and I did get to play the course at Barton Creek which was my first chance to play on what i would call a top shelve country club. Austin has some beautiful courses. Here in the Texas Panhandle...not so much...lol...

Speaking of Austin courses, I had the pleasure of playing the Hills of Lakeway course just outside of Austin next to Lake Travis. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, it featured a par 3 which placed a waterfall between the tee and the green. One of the most photogenic and difficult holes I've ever encountered. I'm sure that the water hazard kept the course driving range well supplied with balls.
