Frenchie Frou Frou in the 3rd at Oaklawn is interesting. Track has been muddy last couple of days and there is rain forecast today.
Frenchie is a NY bred who didn’t show much on the grass last summer. Most of her lines show gate issues. Goes to Turfway for another poor effort and then drops to the bottom maiden ranks at OP and wins by many in the mud. She made a visually impressive middle move.
Today she breaks from from the outside which has been the best part of the racetrack and will help with her gate issues. There is plenty of speed down on the inside and she could be a decent price with Asmussen and Diodoro both having contenders in here.
We have to decide if her maiden win was against a bad bunch or if she might have found a niche.
5/1 morning line Both Jason Barkley and Francisco Arietta are having sneaky good meets.

Middle of the Tampa card is okay, so against my better judgment, I'll bet rolling Pick-3s.
R3- 3yo MdClm16 going one mile on the turf. #2- Air Force Pink (5-2) is obvious after second last time against similar going longer, but doesn't have to win this. #5- Patsy's Big Girl (6-1) had two tough trips under Garcia, now switches to Hector Diaz, Jr. who is riding very well. #4- VK Star (12-1) will try to steal it on the front end.
R4- OClm16 6F. #3- Sarjanelli (6-1) has taken to the TAM surface as a strong closing sprinter, needs a forward move but may well do it. #5- My Sister's Keeper (2-1) is the logical favorite for Dini/Gallardo but is in for the tag today.
R5- AlwN1X 9F turf. #9- Marksman (6-1) has some early speed unlike many of these, is usually a nibbler but has two wins here. #4- Time for Trouble (5-2) Maker/Centeno try again after last one was rained off the grass.

R6- Clm25N2L 6F. #1- Ten Miles High (10-1) Smith uses Centeno when it's go time. Repeat of maiden win puts him in the mix. #4- Seminole Warrior (5-2) is very good 2nd off the claim, has the early foot. #7- Quick Step Ed (6-1) has a booming work tab, gets Camacho for sneaky Vinson.
R7- MSW 3yo 8.5F turf. #1- Common Bond (8-1) sire The Factor can throw a good turf horse, Stidham is excellent with FTS & FTT, Diaz aboard, lots to like. #3- Stand With Mo (4-1) is logical for Clement/Camacho after second last time. #5- Searching for Gold (10-1) steadied, then swung 6 wide and stormed home for third on debut. Derek Ryan knows a thing or two, but reaching out to Mena doesn't inspire confidence. Hard to discount a Juddmonte runner at Tampa but #6- Hachure (9-2) doesn't tick the boxes. #7- Biggie (6-1) don't think Shug is all in if Castillo is up. #8- Connagh's Quay (3-1) Juddmonte/Chad/Gallardo looks kind of ordinary but gets FTL today, will use defensively.
R3-5: $1Pk3- 2,4,5/3,5/4,9
R4-6: $1Pk3- 3,5/4,9/1,4,7
R5-7: $0.50Pk3- 4,9/1,4,7/1,5,8
{EDIT: And that is why I should never, ever bet pick-3s. This has been a public-service announcement.}

I would not take a chance running my 9.5 million dollar mare Monomoy Girl on an off track at Oaklawn today.

Keith, I have a jar full of Candian coins I collected when I went to Vancouver BC on a company trip. That's where I found out when checking out the most excellent Gentlemen's Clubs that the custom of tipping a pole swinger with dollar bills has been replaced by using Canadian dollar coins. Doh. Banks in Amarillo laugh when I want to exchange these coins for bucks. I guess I'm just gonna have to make another Road Trip to Canada! Care to chaperone a Texan around the top spots up there? lol...
