With the pandemic there is a lack of sports available for cable TV. I think they should bring this back. How many of you will confess to owning pants like Newhart's once upon a time?

We used to watch these sports on an old balck and white TV... pro bowling, roller derby and boxing from the Swing Auditorium.

The last curling video was a parody (I know its hard to tell). This one is the actual recap of the 1972 Canadian Men's Championship. At 17:00 you can see the eventual winner throwing a rock with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. Those were the days.

Largemac, loved the 1972 video. I don't know if it's an illusion in the video or if the ice was really slow, but the shots look like they have so much weight, yet they're being swept like crazy just to make it to the top of the 8 foot. Always loved the old school brooms and the sound they made on the ice.

I noticed the slow ice too pro. Especially after the a hit the rocks didn’t go very far. After the era of the corn brooms they brought in artificial brooms made of foam with a heavy cloth cover and a rubber flapper in the middle. They used to be pure hell to listen to if you had an early draw after a rough night and a couple of farm boys got going with those things.
