Got my second shot of Pfizer on 3/8 so am now "fully" vaccinated. Minimal side affects for both shots, 2nd was super sore at the injection site for a couple of days and lethargic for 18 hours or so. My wife, while not a fan, starts hers the end of this week.

"I would recommend it... and I would recommend it to a lot of people that don't want to get it and a lot of those people voted for me, frankly. But again, we have our freedoms
and we have to live by that and I agree with that also. But it is a great vaccine.
It is a safe vaccine and it is something that works." ~ #45 Donald NO POLITICS .
NO EXCUSE FOR NOT GETTING VACCINATED.... NONE.

Well technically not for another two weeks but way to go Dell! We sure need more to get it done and stop the mutations. Life is better and more relaxed vaccinated - at least for me it is. A whole lot less worry and stress not only that I am not going to suffer from the disease but that I am also not going to possibly be responsible for giving it to and causing harm to someone else.

Been two weeks since my second Pfizer shot. Celebrated by going to the grocery store this morning for the first time since March 2020. Having fully vaccinated friends over starting next week for patio cookouts. Great feeling.

Because the Mrs. and. I are fully vaccinated and more and more evidence proves their effectiveness , I will be attending the Arkansas Derby in person!!! I can’t tell you how much I love Oaklawn Park. I highly recommend those who have never been to do so. Would never be able to go without having gotten my shot. I have returned to some “normal” activities but this will be the first “big event” since well - dang near forever. I can’t tell you how much I am Looking forward to this !!!!

am interested to hear from any one of the three who responded no. not arguing, i'm listening and would like to know your opinion. Pete, I am not one of the three that responded no (in fact I didn't answer at all), but since no one else has responded to you, I'll share my concerns. It is a vaccine (or 3 or 4 vaccines) which have been brought to market in record time. It is approved for "emergency use" only. The kicker is that they are declaring it an emergency for anyone 16 years of age or older, without regard to specific risk factors that one might have: age, co-morbidities etc. (those risk factors played a role in the prioritizing of making the vaccine available, but not in the eligibility for emergency use. I am not an anti-vaxer, and have taken multiple vaccines over the years, including a second pneumonia vaccine just 2 years ago. I do decline the flu vaccine each year for a number of reasons, notably because I had issues each of the 2 times I took it. I just have concerns with how quickly this one has come to market and have some cynicism about the enormous financial incentives on the part of pharmaceutical companies to be able to sell millions upon millions of doses even if there is no charge to us because the government is paying. On top of that they are promised immunity from lawsuits, unlike other vaccines. So, if you or a loved one have serious side effects, up to and including death and it comes out 6 months or two years from now, that those issues were foreseeable, and due to the negligence of the drug company,- you or your loved ones have no legal recourse. My only risk factor for Covid itself is my age. Having said this and considered everything, I did in fact get my first dose (Moderna), last Thursday and will get my second dose on May 6. The point I am trying to make though is that I do not think it is either ignorant or irresponsible to debate getting this particular vaccine at this time, and I respect those who have struggled with the decision, just as I respect those who strongly feel that everyone should get it.

Some good news today for you shoes. Hope the same applies to Pfizer going forward.
Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccine was more than 90% effective at protecting against Covid and more than 95% effective against severe disease up to six months after the second dose, the company said Tuesday, citing updated data from its phase three clinical trial.

Canadian perspective....
Large Mac - (61 years old) - First shot of Pfizer tomorrow. Second shot TBD.
Mrs. Mac - (?? years old) - First shot of Pfizer May 6. Second shot TBD
Small Mac (28 years old) - arrived in New York last Monday...had his first dose of Pfizer at Aqueduct last Friday second shot in 3 weeks time.
Daughters Mac - (26 & 24 years old) - God only knows. Youngest is in the Canadian Navy in Halifax and will likely get vaccinated soon. Middle one is home with us and her only experience of vaccination in the near term will be listening to me bitch about a sore arm for a few days.
Not sure what my point is. Canada closed its vaccine production facilities years ago and outsourced globally under a Conservative government. (Canadian conservative is equivalent to the left wing of the NO POLITICS in the states). Trudeau (Liberal party - think right wing of the NO POLITICS) now getting flack for not getting vaccines quickly enough but we have bought enough to vaccinate the whole country twice. There is just no way for us to prioritize deliveries to Canada.
All I know is I'm sick of the whole damn topic and looking forward to better times.
Be well.

My wife and I have each had two rounds of Pfizer. She had a rough few hours the day after the second shot---I had no after effects either time. Now I read where boosters will be recommended in six months and annually..... We followed all recommendations in good faith.br]
I have gone about my normal routines since the beginning. I have been out and about throughout using common sense habits--washing hands, sanitizing, masking where required and appropriate. Have never felt any symptoms(tired and forgetful??? duh....69 as of Monday). We have bounced between Ohio, Florida and Texas multiple times(returning to FL Sunday) always through airports. Texas and Florida are wide open with happening economies-

I have no plans on taking any shots. Could change my mind. Same for bro. Never worn a mask. I do wash my hands! To be honest, I don't know anyone in my circle of friends who have caught the virus, much less died of it. Then again, I don't get out and about much.

What we've all been waiting for :
People fully vaccinated against Covid-19 do not need to wear masks or practice social distancing indoors or outdoors, except under certain circumstances, the director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Thursday.
"If you are fully vaccinated, you can start doing the things that you had stopped doing because of the pandemic," Dr. Rochelle Walensky said during a White House Covid-19 briefing. "We have all longed for this moment when we can get back to some sense of normalcy."
Calling it an "exciting and powerful moment," Walensky said the science supports the updated CDC guidance that "anyone who is fully vaccinated can participate in indoor and outdoor activities -- large or small -- without wearing a mask or physical distancing."

Sadly most people will gloss over the full sentence.
"except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance. Fully vaccinated people should also continue to wear a well-fitted mask in correctional facilities and homeless shelters. Prevention measures are still recommended for unvaccinated people".

Just got my first shot of Pfizer this evening...2nd shot scheduled for Aug 19th. We are a little behind in Canada but making progress.
What about this India variant? Should we be worried about it? We shall see.
