I figure at some point showing proof that I've had the vaccine will be the easiest way to do something I want to do, like travel or see an indoor event, so I'll probably get it when my time comes. I have no fears about the vaccine itself, and no urgency to get it until it's more inconvenient to NOT have it.

Already had first dose [Moderna] and scheduled for second but not as soon as I would have wanted. Was only able to schedule second dose in March and that is more than the recommended 4 week interval. No ill effects from the shot.

There is a lot of leeway given on the second dose.(but like you, getting it at the recommended interval that the studies provided is much preferred) Surprised that you were given an appointment that early that was beyond the 4 weeks. I got an appointment on day 20 for day 21. (call and e-mail)
Here from the CDC: The second dose should be administered as close to the recommended interval as possible. However, if it is not feasible to adhere to the recommended interval and a delay in vaccination is unavoidable, the second dose of Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines may be administered up to 6 weeks (42 days) after the first dose.
What state are you in ? (Florida for the most part through the health department is providing the Pfizer vaccine)

I'm a little shocked by this.....FL department of health issues vaccine stats. First doses issued 1,319,799...of those only 74,895 were black. Those who received the two dose (series complete) 1,232,083....63,670 were black. Total shots given...2,551,882....of those only 138,565 were black. Less then 6% of shots. Florida demographics:According to the 2018 US Census Bureau estimates, Florida's population was 74.7% White (53.3% Non-Hispanic White), 16.0% Black or African American, 2.8% Asian, 0.3% Native American and Alaskan Native, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 3.3% Some Other Race, and 2.9% from two or more races. ww11.doh.state.fl.us/comm/_partners/covid19_report_archive/vaccine/vaccine_report_latest.pdf

I'm curious, of those who have received one or both doses. Has anyone had any adverse symptoms ?

I will probably not get an injection of anything. I'm just never gonna leave my house!

Have had both doses of Moderna. Very mild side effects after first dose - just slight arm pain. After second dose had much worse but not unbearable arm pain at injection site plus I had a “knot” there for a few days. Also experienced some headaches that were not awful but enough to make me take Tylenol. Experienced fatigue that made me want to do absolutely nothing. All told I would say they were very tolerable. Plus side is that my wife an I were able to go out for Valentine’s Day. We haven’t been out to eat in over a year. That was such a wonderful and welcome experience. Seeing and conversing with other folks in an environment other than our home is something we hope not to take for granted again. It felt really good to have at least a small slice of normal.

The one thing for me after receiving the two doses is a sense of returning to a "piece of normality". Being able to return to some things I've put aside in the last year, and anticipating full return to normal on the horizon(in sight now). Like most, eager to put the last year behind us, return to outdoor activity where being in large groups socially is not risking a life altering experience health wise. Glad you and your wife got vaccinated and were able to enjoy a night out.(good timing there)

They are getting ready to roll out the one shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine.
Scientists at the Food and Drug Administration said Wednesday that the single-shot Covid-19 vaccine developed by Johnson & Johnson is effective and prevents hospitalizations from the disease.
I question the efficacy of the vaccine. Sure the FDA says it's safe and works...but...
Johnson & Johnson and the National Institutes of Health initially announced interim results of a 44,325 study testing the vaccine’s efficacy on Jan. 29. At the time, they said the 66% efficacy varied by geography. The vaccine was 72% protective in the U.S., compared to 58% in South Africa, where a new variant of SARS-CoV-2 is circulating.
......where as the Pfizer and Moderna have a 95% efficacy rate. Also the one shot takes 28 days to fully realize the results(safety) which is not much different then the Moderna or Pfizer shots. So...one shot, not as protected vs two shots, better protected. Given the choice think I'd go with the two shots if given a choice.(thought...if your going to do it, why not try for the best possible protection)

i work in the wine business, a subsidiary of the food industry, therefore i could get the first pfizer shot sunday and will get the booster on march 14. got it at the oakland coliseum car park. gigantic serpentine line of cars and a 2 hour wait. while zigzagging through the pylon course we peered into hundreds of cars. disturbingly, all we saw were white and asian faces. this is effing oakland, one of the most ethnically diverse cities, located within one of california's most diverse counties. i left the site glad the county is providing this service for free, but wondering where tf the black and brown people are. food industry? the restaurants would die wo latino employees. where tf were they? not trying to sound wokeland whatnot, but how could one not leave there thinking...wtf.
had a hospital procedure last week. preventative and minor. will be fine. the nurses and doctor all had received vaccinations weeks prior. they report you should expect to feel the flu after the booster for a day or two. it's supposed to rep the vaccine integrating itself into your immune system. the bad news they told is even after vaccination, you still gotta mask up and test. getting inoculated only protects you from getting symptoms. you'll be just as likely to contract and spread that 'rona after as you were before.

I am not a fan of having an injection of a serum I know nothing about. I am not a skeptic for the most part. I will wait on the sidelines and see what gives with this vaccine business, and make a decision at a later date. What with 3,4???, Who knows how many companies will wind up making this STUFF. I am in no hurry. Never shot up unknowns in my arm, and am not about to start....

Seems everyone doing well with their vaccines...no issues of consequence. Going to un-stick the thread. Hopefully everyone going forward(that wants the vaccine) gets their shot in a timely fashion.

Good morning, eye123.
Circle circle dot dot, today I get a covid shot... Hoping to get the dose that causes a Peter Parker/Bruce Banner effect.

I strongly encourage everyone here to get vaccinated. There is no good reason not to be part of this solution.
