R2- 1m Handicap (London Mile Series Qualifier) (Class 2) (4yo+ 0-105)
Difficult to find any tosses, and hard to separate the rest. #1- Via Serendipity (7-2) has found the Fountain of Youth returning to the AW surfaces in last two. 7yo was placed in a Listed event here, then ran second at Lingfield in a mirror-event to today. Regular rider Hayley Turner gets the best out of him. #4- Born to Be Alive (12-1) is another 7yo gelding who has come to life on the AW after a 29 month absence from the races. Boasts one win and six seconds from fourteen starts, but gets some weight from others and could run a big one. #10- Starshiba (5-2) is a lightly-raced 4yo on a bit of a progressive arc over last several races. Nice win going 7F last time over this course, now steps up in class and out in distance. Drew the rail and will take a lot of money so I'll try to beat him.
EX- 1,4/1,3,4,5,7,10
R3- 1m3f Fillies' Handicap (Class 5) (4yo+ 0-70)
The one that I really liked is a non-runner, so I'll tread lightly with #3- Angel of Delight (3-1) which has run third twice since stretching out, and #10- Ruby Red Empress (7-2) a maiden that has also come to form after being stretched out.
EX- 3,10/3,7,10,11
R4- 1m3f Handicap (London Middle Distance Qualifier) (Class 4) (4yo+ 0-80)
#2- Precision Storm (5-2) is in very sharp form right now, last was best yet, taken to repeat first time going 11F.
EX- 2/1,4,5,6
R5- 6f Handicap (Class 5) (3yo 0-75)
Short field of 3yo sprinters. #6- Twilight Madness (6-5) put it all together last time to break maiden wire to wire over C&D. Right back on 9 days rest.
EX- 6/1,2
R6- 7f Handicap (Class 4) (4yo+ 0-85)
#4- Futuristic (4-1) lightly-raced 5yo missed all of 2020 but returned better than ever to just miss at Newcastle three weeks ago. #7- Equitation (3-1) is yet to win on the AW but has plenty of back-class, tries 7F again and has run the best recent races of this group.
EX- 4,7/3,4,7,8

Born to Be Alive ($39.20) broke well, sat a cozy inside trip until the two where he ducked into the opening and powered home in front. #5- Sanaadh (11-1) rallied for the runner-up spot.

Result: 7,10,1 Nearly threaded the needle again as #10- Ruby Red Empress (5-1) led every jump but the last, with #7- Beauty Stone (12-1) outfinishing them all. Needed the wire to come up two strides earlier.
Result: 7,2,4 #7- Party Island (7-1) took advantage of his light impost in a paceless race and outsprinted them to the wire. Third win in last four starts, up in class and distance today.
Result: 6,5,7 Easiest repeat win for Twilight Madness (3-5).
Result: 2,6,4 #2- Zhui Feng (7-2) produced a strong run under Tom Marquand and gave trainer Tom Ward a double on the day. 8yo gelding won the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot in 2017, but had declining form for the past few seasons and made his debut for the Ward team a winning one.

Thanks guys! Born to Be Alive was coming out of by far the toughest previous race among the field. Both Bless Him and Count of Amazonia used that Jan. 12 race as preps for Dubai Carnival races at Meydan, so today was a hidden class drop for him. Rooted myself out of an even bigger exacta ($340) because I couldn't remember if I'd used the 8 underneath...lol.
