Just curious, I know there are mostly Americans on here and I happen to be a 52 year old Canadian guy who lived the dream of playing in the NHL. Is it my age, or has the game gotten boring? is it too fast? are they to well coached now? Is the ice surface too small now? Have the sticks and the equipment taken the hitting out of it. Is it all of this and more. There is no fighting any more, All I see is a organized game of zone defense like in basketball only its on ice. Or its lacrosse on ice, all they do is cross-check and slash. I love speed but I think a bigger ice service might open it up a bit more for the skill and more shooting and less scramble and deflections, the goalie equipment is huge, the goalies are outstanding in terms of angles etc. Just wondering what Americans and others think?

Prefer Olympic or College brand. Went to high school with someone who was a head coach for more than 1,000 NHL games.
