Hey... I am a huge Packers Fan and upset generally about the defensive decisions at the end of the half (Kevin King) Like what were you thinking. The overplaying of Tom Brady's lame ducks he threw on a couple of his shots down field (Check out the 2nd Half, 3 of the 4 he threw were short and picked off). Also, the poor coaching decision of Lafleur, 4 shots from the 10 yard line, 4 timeouts, close to 3 minutes on the clock. Ok.. you are going for a tie... or the chance to tie. Could you have tried to run the ball at least once to see if you could have gotten closer to goal line, that way having an option to do both. Instead you choose the toughest way to score by passing at the 10 year line whereby 6 dbs flood in complete shell zone coverage. And choosing to kick field goal...I would fire him for that.
Which leads to my point about yesterday's horrible refereeing standard. When Kevin King grabbed Michael Evans jersey, obvious penalty and the right to be called. However...................the Rogers interception first half, DB.. Grabs Lazar's jersey on the shoulder allowing for position to make interception. Lazar on crossing pattern, DB again grabs jersey shoulder and pulls on the arm not allowing separation to run his route. Scanton... shoulder grabs all the way down the field, not allowing him to get the chance to make a catch. And both receivers draped all over Davante Jones on 3rd Down pass and grab around the waist by linebacker on packers last possession. OK.. my argument is ok.... it was not called, the whole game, I am sure many times in first half perhaps Pack DBs got away with it and or again the side judges and back judges chose to let the players play as Troy Aikman constantly pointed out. So.. to the NFL officiation crews and their leaders be, I realize very tough job, fast, fast game that those that watch on tv. can never appreciate. However, in future and we continue to run into bad judgement by these guys. The Rams and the Saints three years ago pass int. They did not call it all game, great..keep it that way or call it early that way the players know, otherwise they will keep on trying to get away with it, especially with a Super Bowl berth at stake. Or do not call it at all. It is rotten and it smells of pref. treatment for Brady.

More than a few think the NFL is rigged. Same in the NBA. The NBA makes sense since a missed free throw at a crucial time vs. the spread would be hard to notice or prove. Methinks Aaron Rogers has played his last game for the Packers. Plenty of teams would make a HUGE offer for his services. The Dallas trade sending Herschell Walker to Minnesota for a dozen or so draft picks comes to mind...

I was more upset with the coaching decisions and the poor judgement made at the end of the half. I mean as a defensive coordinator, would it only make sense that 6-7 DBs on the field and everything is in front of you?? And it is the end of the game and you are losing, 3 points meant nothing...you are giving the ball back to the best Quarterback in the last two generations. HELLO..HELLOO.. Hence, run the ball you had 3 minutes, it was like TB knew what they were running.. Time try a new wrinkle, and nothing against Aaron, one of the greatest but if everyone was covered on 3rd down...perhaps take the chance and try to run it in..(Business Decision) I am not wining about the loss, I was upset about the refereeing.. we have the advantage of cameras.. zoom in.. etc. Getting to the point in all pro sports, we do not need the human element to make calls anymore. All we need in sports these days are waiters.. to throw the ball to the pitchers, put the ball on the spot.. you only need one referee, everything now can be done by technology.. We are in age of technological wizardry.. simple P.S, they lost and they deserved to lose, their first half defensive play was bad, dropped balls etc. Aaron should want out, the Packers org. has wasted at least 3 opportunities to have reached the super bowl with the talent he is at quarterback. Seattle in 2015, Atlanta in 2017 and this year. When you have a quarterback with ability to read defenses and the accuracy of the man.. too bad. One man does not win titles, the surrounding parts that need to be addressed every season to build to those points. The reason the New England Patriots made it to all those super bowls win or lose was because they always brought in the parts to compliment the man at quarterback and the defense.

I hear you Chuckster. Some terrible decisions by the Packers but how about giving the Bucs some credit for going for it on fourth down just before half time when everyone expected a punt. That ballsy play alone was worth the win.

I agree totally and all the more reason to not let anybody get behind you at that point, that is textbook football. What was the worse that could happen, a long field goal attempt or a hail mary, you do not get beat deep with 6 seconds at the end of the half. It is certainly easy to sit back and armchair quarterback but these men are hired professionals coaching a game they love, getting payed really well to do what you love. I am just a fan, and played a little high school ball but I have been watching NFL football a long time and the pack had two weeks to prepare for the two most probable opponents. New Orleans and Tampa.. and Tampa was the hotter team going in. Coaching staffs are payed to come up with a game plan and players execute plays. I give Tampa all the credit in the world, but it was not Tom Brady that has got them there, it is their defense. I personally think they will lose, particularly if KC gets any pressure on Brady, he cannot throw the ball deep anymore and its Steve Spagnola who has beaten him twice in Super Bowls as a D coordinator.

As Joe NO POLITICS would say “give me a break “. Tampa is my local team. Tom Brady got them to the Super Bowl with 47 passing touchdowns and 4 rushing touchdowns through the season and post season so far. His leadership has given the defense confidence to make the plays that have helped them win these last two games . Without Brady this year Tampa would not have even made the play offs never mind the Super Bowl. As Hooper correctly said earlier today after 20 years in New England the rest of America is tired of Tom Brady (apart from those of us in Florida within a couple of hours of Tampa) .

It's crazy to think Tom Brady would make the Tampa defense better.....well maybe not so crazy.
Good story lines for the next two weeks.

With Phillip Rivers retiring, makes perfect sense to me for the Colts to go after Rogers if he leaves GB. I think the team that really makes sense if Rogers leaves is New Orleans. What could he do with those WR's, Kamara, a GREAT defense, and chuckin' the ball around in a climate-controlled dome in a weak division? If he leaves. Big if. The Packers will go to great lengths to keep Rogers in town.
Or maybe the Rams? Goff didn't exactly tear it up and Rogers is a California guy.

He is under contract for 2 more years. I believe Aaron strikes me as a selfish person at times in terms of competitive nature. The place he wants to be is home. he was so pissed when 49ers did not draft him. That being said, have no idea on 49ers salary cap sit.. but he goes to Shanahan offense and the offense he has run under Lafleur was born out Shanahan. They have the draft picks and the lots of Young players in the roster. The only other place I could see would be a team that is ready to win now and in need of a quarterback, New Orleans will give hill a chance. The only other team I see is possibly.......New England

Chuckster, you make a great point that who has cap room, is a key into where he might go.

He’s only going to go to a team that gives him the Rodgers State Farm discount.

Well, apparently not only is getting a deal on State Farm and the Rogers Rate, but they pay the endorsement as well. LOL.. I love it, the guy is a great talent but he is started to get old in the tooth. He won his super bowl, the next year when they went 15-1 and lost to the giants. Not many people remember but they lost the leader of the defense that year to a fracture in his neck and he was on his way to being one of the best safeties of all time and that was Nick Collins. Their pass defense for whatever reason really suffered after that. This team under two coaches has been to 6 NFC championship games and quite frankly some of their divisional losses they never took advantage of either under McCarthy. They lost to the 49ers twice in Divisional match ups, Favre's last year, they had a million and one chances beat the Giants in the NFC championship and they blew it. I would say they have had many, many, chances to win more than just one super bowl in the last 13 years because I believe they have only missed the playoffs 2-3 times.
