I did not know this. Thanks for that article. Yes, legend and someone the younger folks could learn something from. I also did not know he had Lyme's Disease. Poor him! That particular tick disease is brutal! I had a bout with Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever but thankfully got diagosed before it did a whole lot of damage. Unfortunately, that tick also gave me Alpha Gal Allergy, but that didn't show up til quite a few months later. Not injesting mammalian products has not really affected my life adversely in terms of diet, as there is plenty of fish and fowl to eat. Every once in a while you run acorss something like Jiffy Cornbread, which is one of the few that contain lard, so I have to keep an epi-pen around but have never had to use it. I mainly worry about medications though, esp. gelatin stuff. I am outdoors a lot, hiking, and have always kept big dogs, so make sure you know all the symptoms of tick diseases......I was not even aware that I had been bitten. I have not met even ONE nurse so far who had ever heard of Alpha Gal, even though it's on the AR Health Dept list rather prominently......so I do take any opportunity to spread tick disease awareness when I get a chance. (so sorry about going off topic here. )

Great and well worth reading, I knew about the steeplechase background and Storm Cat but I did not realize the 15 Eclipse awards and much else included here.
With Antipation was a particular favorite watching that majesti,c almost white, roan going to the lead on the turf and bravely holding on to prevail, was thrilling (even though the deep closers get more attention).
