On the old website we used to have a thread entitled “Resume”, or something like that, where members could introduce themselves briefly, from a horse racing perspective. I always enjoyed reading the “bios”, made it more of a community, knowing a little backstory and such. I thought we might try to build a new thread like that. Suggestions for how to structure it below. I'll jump in first. Name/nickname: First time at a race track: Big wins/narrow misses: Favorite track(s): Favorite trainer(s)/jockey(s): Tracks you've been to: Anecdotes: New members are always welcome!

Hey guys, I'm new here. I'm in my early 30's just getting started in this horse racing field. I went from sports betting to this because I love how you could bet so little yet make so much and also you're dealing with other people and not the bookmaker/Vegas. But, what resources or books do you guys recommend me to start? There's just so much info and its overwhelming! Thank you!
I haven't been to the racetrack yet but I live in the East Bay, North California.

I know TVG takes bets on most of the the overseas tracks. I agree with you that they tend to have much bigger priced winners than the US ..of course the field sizes are generally larger which helps.
