Great find Bev. I was there, but about 10 years later. It was pretty much the same. Perfect for eastcoasters, a place you could retire to when you wanted. Until it was no more. Hialeah still has the patina and grace of a beauty, but it's on the wrong side of town I guess, the area was always a bit out of bounds back in the day and now it's even further away from many fans. I always liked the trackside restaurant replete with attached bar. That bar area was vast and ideally located with a view straight down the stretch. A lot of comic or sports personalities of the day would blow in and out over the day. The structure caught the east wind just right, it was nice in any day. I went everyday during the 1975 meet.
