wondering how shedaresthedevil got past customs. the amount of lengths she found in the oaks was, for lack of a better word, preposterous.

Hoop, first lidocaine (likely via nebulized delivery) now Betamethasone (and should be Betavet as that is the only FDA equine approved product) , plus the Thyro-L news that is old new news.... geez.

From that article...
“ Baffert said the finding was a result of environmental contamination.
“A number of my staff were sick with COVID this summer, including Merneith's groom,” Baffert said via email. “I learned he had been taking over-the-counter cough syrups that contained Dextrorphan. This has been an issue in other states where contamination has lead to positive tests. That's what happened here.”
You really have to watch out for the ‘contact highs’!

Did the groom puke into the feed ?

Despite the quick time, she seemed a little off finishing the recent work beware

The latest Baffert quote released today. Seems about 20 years too late.
"I want to raise the bar and set the standard for equine safety and rule compliance going forward. For those of you that have been upset over the incidents of this past year, I share in your disappointment. I humbly vow to do everything within my power to do better. I want my legacy to be one of making every effort to do right by the horse and the sport".

So will she be juiced or not this weekend? Do I have to include her, because I'd rather not.

She'll run clean as there are so many eyes on her now in general and more specifically given the way the BC sets up their barns to monitor.
I think she's a play against from the pace scenario so I won't use her prominently. Of course, she could just air but if she does, so be it.

Pass. Hard Pass at M/L odds.
Nothing at all to do with drugs, just the idea she her form might be off and this is a bit of specialist distance for horses that know how to distribute their energy in a long all out sprint. If she is asked for a lot more than usual early, would it be there late? I'll bet no, and give all respect if she beats the whole division on raw talent.

I have no difficulty with the distance as she was awesome in the one-turn mile at Belmont. I'm also not convinced she's a need-to-lead type. However, for some reason I feel like she won't win this race. As usual, we will see. You can't use them all and no one is getting them all right.
