Newmarket 10:35- 1m (Row) Joel Stakes (Group 2) (Class 1) (3yo+)
Nice prep for season-ending GI mile races. I'm not sure that favorites #1- Kameko (3-2) and #2- Benbatl (Even) will be all out to win this, as they presumably are looking at GI challenges next time. Nice prices can be had on #4- Regal Reality (8-1) and #5- Top Rank (6-1), and they may well be all in today. Regal Reality crushed his foes two back in the GIII Sovereign S., then was up against it over soft ground and on the lead at Goodwood. Gets good going today and can revert to best form. Top Rank has five wins in six career starts, and his career arc is textbook progressive. Can take another forward step in here.
EX- 4,5/All Result- 1,4,2 Only a length separated the top three finishers as Kameko ($5.20) saw out the trip strongly after looking in trouble past halfway. Regal Reality also finished well but just couldn't get to the winner. Great race.
more to follow...

Newmarket 11:10- 1m4f (Row) Godolphin Stakes (Listed Race) (Class 1) (3yo+)
You'd like to think one of the three Godolphin-owned runners would win this, eh? #3- Volcanic Sky (9-2) has tried stayer distances this year with some decent results, turns back to 12F and should give a good account. #4- Walton Street (6-1) is always there or thereabouts on good ground, hard to put on top though. #1- Laafy (7-2) has earned this shot at black type, a win would not surprise.
EX- 1,3/All Result- 4,5,1 Walton Street ($10.80) fired his best shot today, always looking like the winner under Jamie Doyle. Laafy gave a good effort, but didn't quite look like a Class 1 horse. No shame in that.
