Race 1 - #2 Fast Car. I think Snap Decision could win the G1 NY Turf Writers Hcp tomorrow with 154 pounds vs 160 for Optimus Prime and 160 for stablemate and Bruton Street US owned Moscato, but he stays in the Novice ranks. Snap Decision has the fridge on his back today. 165 pounds. Won with 162 last time. I'm probably his biggest fan. I'm picking against him today. Fast Car had a super fast closing time going over the river and through the woods at Great Meadow and just destroyed a solid N2L group here. Getting 18 pounds today and I'll see if today is his day. I also think Zanzi Win is sitting on a big race today and hope he can hit the board.
Race 6 - #1 Rivendell. Liked the maiden win and draws inside.

(didn't want to edit my post).......as a comment about the hurdle race today, Duc De Meran's last race was way better than it looks. "Tired" is just wrong. He went right to the front and looked great. The turf was goo and there was a spot on the final turn that looked extra gooey. First time around, he was outside and didn't go through it. Final turn when the top two finishers swept by him, he was on the rail in the goo. By the time he got off that rail in the stretch, the top two were gone and he was gaining on them when he found firmer ground. He didn't tire a bit. Never sure how an import is going to do on our fences and with the faster pace we run here, but his flat races in France on firm ground are excellent. He's got a shot if he's ready to go.

Looks like there's a monsoon going on right now. These are the hit or miss storms that wipe out the turf for the day....waiting to see the track after Talking Horses.

Bev, he just didn't keep up. Guessing something was a little off. Snap Decision has been the real deal. 165 today....and he's a shake of the whip and reins at the eighth pole away from "easily" instead of "handily" in the chart. It's a shame for Bruton Street US that it's a covid year. Snap Decision would have given them all a run in the Grand National at Far Hills on any other year. I hope he comes back as strong next year, but you never know.
