The good news is that Mrs. Mac and I got to see live racing on Travers Day. The not so good news is that it was harness racing at the Miami, Manitoba fairgrounds. The highlight of the trip was stopping at a self serve roadside produce stand where you were on the honor system. We went into a small building by the roadside selected 12 cobs of corn, 5 lbs of baby potatoes, some beets and peppers for $22. Nobody from the farm was around. Payment was made by inserting cash into a tool box with a slot cut into it. There are still good people in this world. Here are some pics....yes that is a corn field just off the clubhouse turn. The view over the backstretch isn’t quite the San Gabriel mountains but it is kind of pretty in its own way. Attachments:

So AWESOME Rob. Around here the box, veggies and loot would be gone! I wanna live in Canada so badly. Passport updated. Australia would be cool too but I've been to Vancouver and it was beautiful...sounds like you bought for a shrimp boil maybe?
