Goodwood 8:10- 5f Handicap (Class 3) (3yo) (0-95) field of 9.
Evenly matched group of 3yo speedballs. #2- Show Me Show Me (10-1) was GIII-placed here as a 2yo, ran okay behind Art Power at Royal Ascot two back. #5- Caspian Queen (4-1) turns back to 5F, gets Ryan Moore on her back.

Goodwood 8:45- 1m2f Handicap (Class 2) (3yo) field of 12.
#2- Magical Morning (5-1) ran okay on soft ground at Newmarket, stretches out today with Dettori back aboard. #3- Bright Melody (5-1) just missed last time at Longchamp, was third in the Berlin Tango-key race that keeps on giving.

Lot of discussion today across the pond over yesterday’s Sussex Stakes. Owner of Kameko complaining about O’Brien running unfit horses (Vatican City) purely for the purpose of interference.

It sure looked like a flying wedge designed to benefit Circus Maximus.

Goodwood 9:15- 6f Richmond Stakes (Group 2) (Colts & Geldings) (Class 1) (2yo)
#4- Qaader (4-1) ran second in the GII Coventry S., then faded to fourth over soft ground at Newmarket. Expecting better today. #7- Yazaman (2-1) is the logical favorite, only The Queen's Tactical has ever finished ahead of him. Son of Kodiac has a good future in top-level sprints, it appears.

Goodwood 9:45- 1m4f Gordon Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (3yo)
I'm not sure that #5- Mogul (4-1) really wants 12F, despite being a son of Galileo. I'll also take a stand against big favorite #2- English King (9-5) who won the Derby Trial easily against a now-suspect group, and didn't close particularly strongly in the Derby behind the runaway winner. #1- Al Aasy (4-1) has progressed smoothly at Newmarket for Haggas, I expect to see his best today. #4- Khalifa Sat (9-2) chased (relatively speaking) the runaway leader in the Derby and held on well for second. Led them on a merry chase in the Cocked Hat S. (Listed) in his previous start, and he may well try to emulate Serpentine today. #6- Subjectivist (10-1) has been quietly progressive this season, at three different distances. This is a step up, but I think he could surprise in here.

Goodwood 10:15- 1m2f Nassau Stakes (Group 1) (British Champions Series) (Fillies & Mares) (Class 1) (3yo+)
Taking a shot that #1- Deirdre (4-1) can repeat in this race in her second start of the season, after chasing Ghaiyyath last time.

0-fer-6, that was a beatdown. Didn't have a clue today. Hope someone else made a score or two. I guess Mogul can compete at 12F after all. Fancy Blue was the first GI-winner for Donnacha-the-youngest, I believe. Off to Saratoga, virtually.
