Remember it well as I waited for Gun Runner to surge (which never happened).

Still can’t believe he was 11-1. I know he was on my p4 ticket(s) but I also know I didn’t hit it (them).
Truly a shame. For awhile, he was unbeatable and versatile.

The reason I couldn't believe it was his T-Graph #'s from his races up to and including The Travers. The lower the number the better the performance. 9,4,4,4, and then negative -4 in Travers. 8 point top. Laughable.

His Dubai World Cup was simply jaw dropping as well.

Absolutely loved this horse pre travers. Also had the opportunity to see the race live and witness his unbelievable performance. His stride, his heart, unreal. Was easily my largest win as a horseplayer and most memorable aside from American Pharoah.
With that said the #3 horse in race 12 at Belmont reminds me a lot of his dad. That stride, makes it look so easy, but that dual stretch run in the Peter Pan, where he’s beat, but fights back to win, shows me he has that same heart Arrogate had. Looking forward to watching Arcangelo run today, if he runs the way I think he will, we’ll never see 8-1+ odds ever again, same thing I said about Arrogate at 11-1 pre travers. Good luck to all.

Will Castellano ride Mage or Arcangelo in the Travers?

Will Castellano ride Mage or Arcangelo in the Travers? That’s a great question! Hopefully it’s Arcangelo!
