1500 miles from home... Wife has MS,low immune system, high risk for the latest virus... Stay where the temps are in high 80's and shelter or head back home to be closer to her Dr's and family in case ... Leaning to heading home ASAP... feel like this might escalate Not the month many of us envisioned

I read something today suggesting warmer weather doesn’t really impact viruses. Assuming that is true and the current danger relates to overwhelming hospitals, maybe Florida with its higher percentage of seniors isn’t safer. Follow your gut and Godspeed, Jim.

I don't think it's really "hit" ..... yet. If you need to make a decision I would do it soon. Then stay put. Best of everything to you and your wife.
I have never worn outdoor shoes into house, etc. and just practicing and stepping up our practices and not going out into crowds, and making sure you do not touch face, mouth, eyes, nose at grocery store (get in, and get out) will pretty much reduce any chances it comes your way. I have even taken to giving my car door handles a quick lysol spray and doorknobs n' stuff, as well as using a purse that is washable or sprayable, and I don't put it down on my table or counters when I get home.
All the little things can be done and doing what is in our control to do makes it feel better, at least for me.

1500 miles is a long way from home. With the exponential growth/spread if you going to make the trip home, the sooner the better.
Just don't let Dell talk you into taking the bus.

hey hoop--I flew north last Thursday evening--4hr delay full flight--pulled in the driveway @ 5:20am. Left family well-stocked on the beach down there
It seems worse up north, though S FL seems to be catching up quickly more stress up here, colder and rainy compared to perfect in FL lately self-quarantined and bored here--might play golf if it warms/dries--courses still open there?
Driving will be a drain for 2 days minimum---try Allegiant Air(my new mode) Would fly back however wife doesnt want me on another plane but we are gamblers here.....
If no issues, why not stay where u r?? U can always change your mind and leave--it might get better soon......

Did hear that Pennsylvania was closing the rest areas, I would hope that the rest rooms would stay open. May be worth checking on your route.
Safe travels!

Safe travels Hooper . I’m staying in Dubai as it seems to be worse in US than here. I see Team Valor have Spanish Mission running in Dubai Gold Cup. I wonder if I will run into Barry Attachment Deleted

Hoop, safe travels and may God bless and watch over you and your wife. I think we are in this for the long haul as there is not a short term solution unfortunately. I picked the wrong week to redevelop insomnia and dive back in to reviewing medical journals not specific to the horse and scientific modeling to say the least!
Bev, are you able to attend the races at all? How’s the media coverage there? I have turned off all alerts on my phone and try limit watching the news to just once a day.

Ozzy, no general public admission but horse connections able to attend. Still all systems go for DWC with Japan sending over 20 horses and Aidan O’Brien sending half a dozen . Quite a large American contingent headed by Tacitus in the big one Imperial Hint in the Sprint and Mr Freeze in the Mile.

Currently safe in North Carolina,up early in the morning for the last leg. You would not believe the number of snowbirds heading north from the sunshine state today. Rest areas on the interstate are packed. Trail mix, peanut butter crackers and red grapes for the car tomorrow. No restaurant stops. Heard my youngest sister put a 12 pack in my fridge for my arrival home Thursday. Gonna taste good!

Safe travels for the rest of your I-95 journey. You will have earned some of that 12 pack that's waiting for you in the fridge. Just to settle the dust of the road, of course.

You're getting a nice gap in the bad weather systems to get home today without any of the heavy rain we had overnight. Have a safe day 2.

Safely home, and as propro mentioned,no rain. No traffic in DC,Balt,NJ,NY and Ct. Surreal. Delaware had shut down one of our go to family rest areas,on to plan B which was the NJ Turnpike rest area system. Upgrading the family rest rooms was a great use of propro's tax dollars! I'd like to thank all that chimed in and also those that read and don't post. Accessibility is very important to my family and probably yours. Without the ADA www.ada.gov/ada_intro.htm we would have had to stop traveling a decade ago. Sister's beer was cold and refreshing but the Cookies www.allbud.com/marijuana-strains/indica-dominant-hybrid/cookies might be the highlight of the night.
