(American) Theorem: a general proposition not self-evident but proved by a chain of reasoning;
a truth established by means of accepted truths. Truth is... I have him @ 54-1 in Kentucky Derby Pool 1.
1 NADAL - too fast, too early?
2 EXCESSION - board crasher for show dough?
3 BASIN - best Asmussen.
4 SILVER PROSPECTOR - third best Asmussen.
5 NO PAROLE - no way, no how.
6 THREE TECHNIQUE - second best Asmussen. WRONG! (Englehart trains... oops.)
7 COACH BAHE - first time lasix won't help.
8 AMERICAN THEOREM - expecting much "muchiness" from this one.

Based on his last run, I put silver prospector as the key asmussen(for now) runner. That prep was very professional, with improvement possible from a runner who has already beaten Tiz The Law.

I've been up and down this race a few times and can see about 4-5 horses who could get into the trifecta. It's raining cats n' dogs here right now. Hey Badactor , Three Techniques is an Englehart, not an Asmussen. Nadal looked like he had to try pretty hard to get by the 2nd place horse in his last race. Baffert hasn't won the Rebel in the last 4 years or so. Silver Prospector is really a bad breaker from the gate. Once he gets going he does alright, but with speedsters in this race he better get a move on coming out of the gate. He would not be a Derby horse for me so him making the gate is no matter but he's good on the slop. So are most of these though. I left Three Techniques off my ticket at OP in his last race and he ran 2nd. That was a mistake but I still do not favor him......I can't seem to warm up to this horse and Englehart hasn't done that great at OP. I think Excession will be overlooked, he's over-raced but does pretty okay at 1-1/16th, if he doesn't hang. I am trying to figure out why Asmussen has him entered here....last ditch effort or what? think Coach Bahe has been made to run on surfaces he absolutely obviously hated and his last race on AW he perked up. What a shame, because this one has absolutely gorgeous breeding up and down....his turf races that were awful are very misleading to his overall picture. I know No Parole would be making a huge class jump, but I watched his race at DED a few times and he just seems to love to run, in a totally carefree manner, run with the wind, and doens't even look like he's *trying". Others say Nadal is similar, doesn't seem to care what else is going on around him. I don't like theorum and he seems to be on a decline in some ways. Anyway, haven't put together ticket yet but I think only way to make a few bucks here is to try to build some value into the ticket. |

I have favored Silver Prospector and he is my golf pick, but I chose him over Three Technique and overlooked the 5 lb weight difference 122 v 117. Now I'm indecisive again Hmmm.
