Activity type: Entry Activity date: 01-09-2020 Track: Fair Grounds Surface: Turf Distance: 5 1/2 Furlongs Race number: 7 Purse: $42,000 Claim price: $40,000 Individual claim price: $40,000 Race type: Allowance Optional Claiming Post position: 3 Jockey: Mena MTo actually be the fauxner of this little gal is a real treat! Saw her win in person at Saratoga... (maybe again this year). Quick Quick Quick was scratched scratched scratched I knew $40K was too good to be true... Why would she be entered in a claiming race only to be scratched for a Stakes race later???

Posting my [hopefully] final two claims.
Claim #3: Friday, Jan 24 - Aqueduct Race 1 - Vintage Hollywood - Claiming price $16,000.
Claim #4: Friday, Jan 24 - Aqueduct Race 3 - Spectre Bond - Claiming price $25,000.
Total claims - 4 Total claiming prices - $91,000
I know that I'm leaving $9,000 of my bankroll unused, but hopefully have a claiming stable that will last the season. Didn't want to wait until the very end of the month and risk a cancellation due to bad weather or something similar.
Good luck to all and thanks for hosting this year's claiming party, Bev.

Here is an idea for future versions of this...
How about a claim of the year award?
I know this is a stable contest but it would be cool to recognize the "best" individual claim...maybe have a sticky with the best individual claim made each year? Voted on at the end of the year? 1 submission per stable? Name of claimer? Stats? Earnings? Cost of claim? Other relevant info?
Just thinking out loud.

Good idea , Tony. Best claim would be the net value of earnings less claim cost. Chances are that this would also be in the same ownership of the stable winner though.

attention Ponygirl On reflection I should not be trying to influence anyone’s picks as long as they are within the rules. More than happy to reinstate your claim of Beast Mode which would leave you with one pick remaining.

Does that mean that I still have one more claim to make with my remaining bankroll?

One more attempt to complete my stable. If it is this difficult in cyberspace, I can just imagine how much more difficult it must be in the real world, with real dollars, and with multiple claims on those horses that appear to be bargains.
We were told that yesterday was Robert Burns Day, so it may be fitting for me to hope that this time my scheme does not gang aft agley.
Claim #4 Sunday, January 26 - Gulfstream Park Race 7: Crumb Bun - Claiming price $25,000

Big effort by Red Razzo today. Tough as nails 8 year old gelding picks up his 14th lifetime win and goes over $700,000 in lifetime earnings with his $25,200 payday against optional claimer PA-Breds. Love having these old timers in my faux stable.

Claim #4 $16,000 1/29 GP R7 Cryogenic What a brilliant claim . That’s what I’m talking about folks . Claim a horse for $16k that’s running in a $44k purse race and pick up the $26,400 first place money . Gee we might have a real contest this year although Propro has got off to a dynamite start again !
