So much “success” in sports revolves around such good luck (like taking a modest prospect from Michigan at QB in what?, the 6th round? and having him turn into one of the best all-time).

That was an underwhelming draft class to say the least. The Qb's selected ahead of Brady were Chad Pennington,Giovanni Carmazzi,Chris Redman,Tee Martin,Marc Bulger and Spergon Wynn.

I had forgotten about Tee Martin. Back before Peyton Manning had won the first of his 2 Super Bowls and when Indianapolis had had several high profile disappointments, The Onion ran an "article" that the Colts were bringing in Tee Martin to replace Peyton for the play-offs. (Tenn never made it to the top under Peyton, bit won the NC the year after he left with Tee Martin).
