In all of the lead up to the BC, the name sponsor of the Dirt Mile was always listed as Big Ass Fans. Early this week, a company rep even appeared on TVG to explain how the company's name evolved. All of a sudden, their ads on NBC Sports refer to Big Fans and their web address is Bigfans.com. The logo does slyly show the south end of a northwards facing mule.
I wonder how much pressure was placed on them to change their name before their major ads were splashed before the viewing public, or was this their plan all along? Does anyone have insight into this?
