Just watched this. Hard not to be excited about the move that Maxfield showed.

lots of big moves from the back that day (Dawn the Destroyer, Spiced Perfection). it was hot/sunny, and they were watering but it was drying out quick, maybe a dead rail?
leaders went 47.78 for half, then a 24.68 3rd quarter?

elk, you think he benefitted from the track? We had Gouveneur Morris in the race. If you see any other track biases please post during the week.

3rd race winner ran well off the rail wire-wire. South Bend was another that came from pretty far back and he came back, he ran back in the stake yesterday at CD and won from a little closer to the pace.
Prob need more info, but certainly wasn’t the old Keeneland golden rail track.

This is going to be a great race between the two favorites. Dennis' Moment is a monster and Eight Rings is the real deal.

hard to get past the two favorites here, but hey what if the jock falls off,,, both,,, again... LOL Wrecking Crew is a bit interesting. By 1st crop sire Sky Kingdom, who was 10-12f distance horse by Empire Maker. So far 17 of that 1st drop have made 50 starts. 43 at less than a mile with 2 wins. 7 at a mile or more with 2 wins. Sky Kingdom's stud fee is $5,000, but this guy sold 115k as a yearling and 875,000 after a sub 10 second furlong work at the Fasig Tipton select 2yo sale. www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/232703/works-over-stage-set-for-fasig-tipton-gulfstream-saleschedule and training have been a bit puzzling, was 33 days from his last race until the 10/5 work. And was pushed on more then I liked in the to go 1:13.8 in the 10/23 work. still should move up with the longer race and has a lot of raw talent. Enough to like to include in a flyer pick 4. *** note for Dennis bridge jumpers *** may want to watch the head on of the Best Pal and take a look at the 1 horse (Wrecking Crew) who will be starting on Dennis's outside. jump to the 2:56 mark.

Was all set to back Maxfield and hope he returns soon. Guess I'll side with Dennis in this one but probably just watching from the sidelines.

Anyone else puzzled by the exotic payouts in the Juvenile? I get that it was only an eight horse field, and the win-pool odds are not necessarily reflecting the other pools, but how is the exacta only $970 for a buck, and the triple is “only” $3900 for a buck? Am I missing something?

I'm going to guess that the BCBC bankrolls probably influenced the payouts? Just a wild guess.
