Fabulous undercard at Churchill today. Here are some I'll be looking at.
9th - CAPTIVATING MOON - had an excuse over a yielding turf last time out. One more try at juicy odds. Untamed Domain's 2nd to Mendelssohn in last year BC Juvy Turf, points him out. Last on dirt wasn't good but he was facing Derby horses and gets back to his preferred surface.
10th - MISSISSIPPI - this race is loaded!!! Mississippi was on my radar last fall and was possibly going to the Derby, but his owners wisely decided against it. Shortens up today after racing up close against Audible and Hofburg, two horses I think have a shot to hit the board in the Derby. ML of 10-1 is juicy. Mask, Sporting Chance and Restoring Hope are all must uses in exotics.
11th - ARKLOW - trying a bomb here. Looked like he was going to be a good turf horse when he beat Good Samaritan over this course last year. Rounding back into form with a good second to Synchrony, who is one of the favorites in here. Trained by exciting young trainer, Brad Cox, he looks live at a price. Deauville, Synchrony, Yoshida and Beach Patrol in the mix. BTW, favorite Beach Patrol is off a layoff and is only 1 for 5 at the distance.
