I try to stay away from politics and religion....People are entitled to their beliefs...as long as they don’t hurt others over them.... I don’t believe that ANY politicians are totally honest...that they all have done what is necessary to achieve what is in their own best interest..... People who want to believe in whatever side they are on will find ways to spin things in their favor... What is that old adage.... ” There are three sides to every story: your side, my side, and the truth. And no one is lying. Memories shared serve each differently.” I think this is the way of the world now....everyone sees only what they want to see...there is no middle ground.....people can no longer agree to disagree....everything is a fight.... 😔

This is not about sides, it is about the "truth". To ignore the truth, is to be a part of the lie. Michelle,Shoes.....you may not discuss your views, I do hope you exercise your right to express them at the voting booth.

I'm not ignoring anything eye. And I vote at each election. It's hard sometimes but I vote. Michelle's point, I think, with which I agree, is that when it comes to politics, the "truth" is often elusive.

Shoes, I agree the truth is sometimes hard to discern. For me personally that is not the case here. It is “crystal” clear. I take the character of who is saying what very seriously. I believe the subject matter here important enough to be part of the conversation. I don’t enjoy what I’m seeing. I believe it is important not to be silent. If you don’t speak the truth, the lie takes hold.

Hey—it wouldn’t break my heart if NO POLITICS resigned. The current team and a few improvements could do better without him. However he is the crack in the political iceberg—the first non-politician(hopefully many more to follow). Study the recent election trends worldwide—extremists are winning everywhere, with nationalist and socialist leans gaining. Polarization, baybee!
Economy was up 3.1% 1st q of 2019 to continue that trend. What’s not to like about that? Businesses are busier with more hiring of all types, and actually making taxable profits and payrolls.
Was at my club the other night—cnn was on the screen—-NO POLITICS dominated every screen footnote and conversation. The obsession is a little freaky, and uic fits that trend. Self-righteousness is usually painful for many and always has a cost....and no one here seems to be suffering

Spider, what price do you put on your morals, ethics, principles ? Good economy justify lack of morals, principles, ethics? In using an extreme example below would this good economy keep you from speaking out. (need to preface that I’m not suggesting this is what is happening now, an extreme example of lack of morals, ethics, principles where you went along to get along)
The German economy, like those of many other western nations, suffered the effects of the Great Depression with unemployment soaring around the Wall Street Crash of 1929. When Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany in 1933, he introduced policies aimed at improving the economy. The changes included privatization of state industries, autarky, and tariffs on imports. Wages increased by 10.9% in real terms during this period. The Nazi government developed a partnership with leading German business interests, who supported the goals of the regime and its war effort in exchange for advantageous contracts, subsidies, and the suppression of the trade union movement
Spider, we all know how that turned out.

"No evidence of collusion"--hardly. The exact words were "insufficient evidence of a broader conspiracy to charge a crime". Lots of evidence of obstruction, as you would see, if you read the report instead of the Hannity blog.
The economy is a gravy train on Obama's work. More jobs created under O, than under the Fat Man. And he inherited a recession, not a rising economy like the Liar-in-Chief.
And no, there has never been an admin that sought the help of a hostile foreign power as these corrupt asshats have. Nice try. Repeated attempts at false equivalency are truly moronic. Sheesh.
Let's see the redactions.
Can't wait to see the Drumpf laundromat laid bare when we get the finance recs.
As to day to day life: It's a far more unpleasant world than when the Pig took office. The Republican playbook of hate, anger, racism has been enabled and is now out front for all to see. It serves as daily fodder on Faux News, speech material for TeaBags, and talking points for any righty commenter in the US and beyond. Hate crime is up. Gun violence is up. There is a greater threat of war in Iran, Korea, etc. If you own property in a blue state, your taxes went up. Kids are in cages and a crisis has been created on the border where none existed. The system of justice has been undermined creating needless tension where none was necessary. Ditto the free press. The Republican Party is an ashcan of cowardice and sychophancy. And if you are a young woman in this country you have big problems. Nah, everything is rosy....
Nothing that is good in the country has been created by this ignorant, vindictive slob. Impeachment is in the Constitution for a reason. Fake News, my ass. You call others sanctimonious, another ploy from the Cheeto playbook. It's called "projection". Stifle yourself. Good night, now.

too much name calling going on here, of each other and of those in power. just make your point without degrading anyone or anything. or you risk becoming one of those you may despise.

Fair enough, eye....morals and ethics from our current crop of politicians? Come on—little to none on either side unfortunately, and those attempting anything close(including collaboration) are shouted down immediately.
Your hitler analogy is a little extreme—I don’t see it going there, and maybe you are describing a socialistic situation.
Obama was an economic disaster who politicized every branch of govt like never before. He was the king of spying and surpression. NO POLITICS is an amateur compared to Obama and the H-bomb. He was very good at campaigning and throwing cool parties + he looked good. I was all for minorities getting their due finally.
NO POLITICS is a side show , and you keep falling for it. That is all on you. We are fine and will be fine until 2020.
Who would you choose to be the next president?

"Obama was an economic disaster who politicized every branch of govt like never before. He was the king of spying and surpression. " Projection, yet again. You have described NO POLITICS to a T, not Obama. "Well documented" as always. Certitude in spewing idiocy is not persuasive, boyo. btw, if you can't see the parallels between Adolph and The Donald, your knowledge of history ain't all that it should be.

Hitting me where it hurts. Hooper
Beer and liquor companies slid Friday on President Donald NO POLITICS 's plan to slap tariffs on Mexican goods.
Constellation Brands (STZ), which owns Corona and Modelo Especial, lost 6%. Brown-Forman (BFB), the owner of El Jimador and Herradura tequila brands, was off 1%.
The United States imported $3.5 billion worth of beer from Mexico last year, according to the USDA. It was the top agricultural product imported from Mexico, ahead of avocados and tomatoes.
