I've been keeping a low profile, but today's card at Keeneland is amazing. Playing some rolling pick 3's and some win bets. Here are my thoughts.
4th - this race is loaded with future stakes horses. HONORABLE TREASURE shows the only 90 Beyer in the field and it came at today's distance of 7f. Has been banging heads with stakes caliber horses and shows a bullet work for this. Forget the morning line of 10-1. I'll take 4-1 if I can get it.
5th - GALILEO GAL - daughter of Galileo has shown some quality on the sod. Casse runner was a little short last time, but with some nice turf workouts under her belt, she should be ready to roll. Using Coco Channel also.
6th - CONQUEST WINDYCITY - beat Mind Your Biscuits last time out and we all know what that guy came back and did. Westwood and Limousine Liberal on some tickets.
7th - BOUND FOR NOWHERE - crushed an allowance field last year over this course and was then shipped to Europe by Ward, where he ran in two Grade 1's including a decent run against Caravaggio, a top class Euro sprinter. Freshened up and ran a nice prep for this on the poly at Turfway. Working sharply for this. This race is so wide open. Commute, Will Call, Big Handsome, and favorite Disco Partner in the mix.
8th - SALTY - my best bet of the day. Oozes class and ran with the best last year including Abel Tasman and Elate. Although those were routes, the 7f should suit her fine as she shows a win at the trip. Prepped nicely at GP and has been sharp in the morning. Don't know who makes these morning lines, but she's nowhere near 10-1. Lewis Bay, Ami's Mesa, and American Gal are other possibilities.
9th - MONOMOY GIRL looks like a single in here and will be tough to beat at 4-5, although Eskimo Kisses can be used as a backup.
10th - GOOD MAGIC gets another chance to prove his quality although the price will be short. My boy FLAMEAWAY is as game as they come and should be in the picture. Kanthaka has run two good figs in California, including a bang up 3rd to Bolt D'Oro and McKinzie.
Good Luck
Steve
