Even though there is 1 race left on Horsetourneys, this self proclaimed "Wizard Of Odds" has analyzed the entire field and will declare that Eric has won a 2nd HPWS entry today! Nice work, sir!

Thanks guys, Crazy day.... 3 for 3 on the contests and 11 months of not chasing that NHC ticket is a wonder thing.

Congrats Elk,
It's always GREAT to get qualified to the NHC early. My friend Darryl Mays double qualified last year and won the Treasure Island Last Chance so he qualified for next year before the 2019 NHC started.
Congrats also on the 2nd HPWS. See you at The Orleans in a few weeks.

Great job today, Eric! Double qualified for the NHC already and we are only in April! Can a NHC tour championship be in the cards for you this year? I wouldn't bet against it with the way you are rolling.
Congrats again.

Thanks Tony! Was an odd day, thankfully picked up a second entry this morning in the early contest. Put in my main picks and then changed 4 I think, two of the backup picks ended up being the two longest priced winners in the contest. Main picks couldn't even get a sniff in the 16 entry BCBC qualifier.
Not sure about chasing the tour points, I'll at least play the free ones and see how it goes. Lol.

LOL, sure Jack, I'll sign it on my picks sheet from my last NHC in 2012, where I amassed an $8.00 bankroll in 30 picks, and finished 479th out of 479. Had to get two entries just to insure myself one of them doesn't finish last.

Just now making my way to this forum and catching up. Very impressive. By the way were you interviewed by phone several years ago on TVG? I always wondered if that was you.

Hooper, checked my local spot, didn't have it, then kind of forgot... a few places on the other side of town I'll check out this week.
Shoes - lol, no tvg interviews. I tried to charge them 25 cents per word and they didn't appreciate the irony. I did call into Steve Byk's show once and had an email from the drf guy who wrote for a short time about the contest circuit with some questions he used for an article. That's the extent of my media exposure. Lol.
Thanks everyone for the kind words. Hope to do upinclass proud in Feb!

Ah- I'll bet that was it. I listen to Byk regularly. I figured how many great horseplayers named Eric from South Bend can there be?

Shoes, there are none that I know of. LOL.
Xpress bet used to give an NHC seat for their dime-a-day contest. I had the lead and was passed on the last day to finish 2nd, the 2nd place points in a contest like that with a lot of people were enough to put me pretty high up the list of people who hadn't qualified and I think the top 10 in points that hadn't won a seat got one that year. Anyway Byk regularly had on one of the xpress bet guys Johnny D? regularly to promote XB and they would talk about the contest. I called to thank them and BS'd for a minute or two. I remember Johnny D saying after I got off the phone, something to the effect that you know you're doing something right when the guy who lost the contest calls in to thank you. LOL.

Johnny D is a frequent guest, though not necessarily the most helpful one. I like it when he has clockers Mike Welsh and Gary Young. Nick Luck is also good for the foreign perspective around BC time.

Sorry I'm late to respond but MAJOR CONGRATS Eric, hope to see you at the top of the NHC leaderboard. I'll be chasing from about 40 lengths back.
