Kids did that in Canada too ? Remember doing that myself way back when......it being Holy Saturday derby day and being a good Roman Catholic, how can I not back Catholic Boy. (would be sacrilegious..well,maybe not....but after listening to Salvatore's take on the Tampa Bay Derby expect this race to be quicker up front (Tampa Bay fractions slower then all other two turns that day(even $5,000 claimer) ).......... now how did that go Bill m...i...double s.....i...double s.....i....double p...i...mississippi.....

If kids in Canada are learning to spell Mississippi, then isn't it only fair that kids in the US should be learning to spell Mississauga? Equal treatment, just like the playing of both national anthems in the pregame festivities at today's opening game in Toronto. By the way, great start for the Yankees and Giancarlo Stanton.
We are getting far afield from the original topic, so let me try to bring it back. I really like the way that Strike Power has been progressing and think that he should effectively handle the additional stretchout from 1 1/16 to 1 1/8. I expect him to use his speed from the inside post to establish position.

Knowing later that Catholic Boy bled, and quite significantly at that (on lasix, the "wonder drug" ) it made it esp. hard to re-watch the race and see Irad flailing away at him in the stretch to try to get him into 3rd. You really gotta respect some of the crap these horses have to put up with.

Just an observation. While watching the races from Meydan Saturday I saw a gate scratch for bleeding.Point Blue was the favorite in the turf sprint. When just ready to go to his stall I see a man ,who turned out to be a vet, took a long hard look at the horse. Then he looks close at the left nostril and waves his hand.I can't say weather the jockey noticed something in the warm up and asked him to check or it was just a thorough exam.I would like to think it to be the latter. And if that's the case could Catholic Boy have been spared that defeat.Just sayin.
