nice photos, bev.
any chance they will let you on a horse there? Would love to see a pic of you on a horse in Dubai...that would be one for the archives.
hope you are having a good time...definitely let us know who those on site like for the big races.

And we bought a horse! RIFLESCOPE (IRE) is a 5yo who won a stakes race in England. We will have him with Satish Seemar at Zabeel Stables.

Some on site observations . It is very hot and dry today . Totally different from last year’s monsoon. The Godolphin Mile goes off first in what will be the hottest race of the day which won’t suit Chad Brown’s Economic Model.m’ Having said that there isn’t much to beat here . Heavy Metal has changed trainers since his disappointing run on Super Saturday and probably is the one to beat. Secret Ambition might be the best of the long shots.
In the Arabian race if you can get 20-1 on the Saudi horse Tallaab Al Khaladeah, then take it. Paddy’s Day flies the flag here for the USA and has a decent shot.
Torcedor has been runner up to Order of St George in his last two races and gets a class relief here and is my choice to upset Vazairabad and Rare Rhythm in the marathon Dubai Gold Cup.
Yulong Warrior was most impressive at this course and distance on Super Saturday and although Gold Town looked invincible in his three starts he is untested at 1 3/16 Mile .The filly Rayya has a shout here to in this Kentucky prep .
In the Turf sprint Blue Point and Jungle Cat can. make it a Godolphin exacta with Stormy Liberal the best of the US finishers.
US horses however will dominate the Golden Shaheen again with Roy H likely to win for the amicable Peter Miller and XYJet and Mind Your Biscuits to fill out the places.
In the Dubai Turf I expect Benbatl and Blair House to be fighting it out at the finish with the former edging it. Lancaster Bomber always seems to turn up on big race days so it’s amazing to realize that he’s only ever won one race and I don’t envisage him adding to that today although he should be in the mix again.
Japan can get in the winners circle on this great day of International Racing with Rey D’Oro in the Sheema Classic while the President of Chechnya would be a rather ironic winning owner of the Classic with the aptly named North America !

Meydan 12:45 Godolphin Mile 13 Rosa Imperial 12/1,lightly raced sprinting mare for Fabre,Barzalona and Godolphin.Market choice in last off the shelf in a AW allowance ,was not asked for all.Didn't hiccup with the switch from turf. Should make a nice run and a spirited early pace only helps.

The "GOLDEN" rail(dirt).......cannot remember seeing such a pronounced bias in a long time......track record......Mendelssohn.....what does this say for X Y Jet........

I am not sure a bias is the reason for an 18 1/2 length domination. With his pedigree and race record, Mendelssohn certainly will merit respect on Derby Day.

Ozzy, check video on first two races......mad dash for the rail.....(also video I included from Salvatore above)....strong rail bias...

Certainly no bias in the Golden Shaheen with the winner circling the field from far far back and top 3 finishers several paths out from the rail.

Noticed less kick back, did they harrow and water ? Nice effort by Mind Your Biscuits...

Didn’t see the earliest race on the card but did feel the kickback bothered Roy H in the sprint. Bev said it was hot and dry there... unsure about watering but sun going down would help in some manner I would guess.

Went to put in a p4 for the final 4 races and it wasn't offered. Thought there was one. Oh well. Coming back with a p3 tied to Talismanic.

Going with Talismanic in the big race. Caught him in the BC Turf at 14/1 last year. Sitiing at 9/1 now with 19 MTP. Steve
