I’m very disappointed in my return to this board. Things are very quiet! Not as much banter as the old days.
I’m going to be watching the races today from my local sports bar and OTB. I’m going to start a thread called “Live Banter” later. Anyone who wants to comment on the current odds or whatever will be able to discuss each race in real time.
What do you think?

I’ll speak for myself but the announcement it was headed back to Del Mar for 2025 which means 7 of the last 10 runnings will be held in California kind of took the wind out of my sails as it is just not the event I know. Sure Belmont and Keeneland will have their opportunities soon when construction is completed, but appears Churchill may never again which is tragic (although how could they with a horrendous turf course currently).
That combined withBaffert winning yesterday and the incredibly awkward interview afterward in him not being able to remember the name of his horse! He was referring to them by as a horse he once trained in McKenzie, or I can only imagine that is what he was doing as, well who know what he was doing…. Maybe he was saying he thought the McKenzie in Chancer McPatrick would be coming but he certainly couldn’t recall Gaming’s name. Regardless, those are two reasons I am less than engaged as normal.

MadameBlum and I will be watching and wagering from the Saratoga Casino Hotel's Mane Bar, and then from Race 7 onwards at Morton's bar where they just put up our picture because we are there so often during racing season  . We'll banter with you Steve! I like doing real-time interaction, unless it's on police bodycam  . This place can be pretty quiet during the week, but it gets active on big race days and contest days. Regulars(members who have been here for years) are slow to post ...but we're getting more views from non-members. (Most Users Online: 353 (Oct 13, 2024 at 6:02pm) Would be nice if some members who show for the big days and contests maybe stop by in between and post from time to time or maybe start a thread.

Well I could scream ... on the turf I always use any horse coming off a long layoff, but rather than a win, a super 14-5-7-all. Longest layoff on down
Hit the 2nd race super, but needed that longshot in the all spot
Was looking at the 10 in third, just better on firm turf

Great start to the day for this Saratoga area resident. $20 win on Raqiya from Shadwell/Owen Burrows/Dettori. $122 back and live in the Pick3. Hope your travel went smoothly mate!
