YOR R1 (8:50am ET)- 5½f (5f89y) Handicap (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2) (3yo+) 22 runners
www.racingpost.com/racecards/107/york/2024-08-21/872987
Not going to be easy today. One good hit might make the grade. #4- Pilgrim (6-1) is a 3yo drawn out on a wing (PP20) but is improving rapidly, and was clearly kept aside for this spot. Royal Ascot winner looking to strike again. #5- Holkham Bay (7-1) is drawn out there as well, consistent gelding is also improving at a rate of knots, likes the course and gets fine bug boy up. Which side of the course will have the runners?
EX- 4,5/1,2,3,4,5,8
YOR R2 (9:25am ET)- 7f Acomb Stakes (Group 3) (IRE Incentive Race) (Class 1) (2yo) 11 runners
www.racingpost.com/racecards/107/york/2024-08-21/872986
Hoping for some scratches to help the cause. Justify shows up for Godolphin in here, with #6- Ruling Court (4-5) a very impressive winner in his debut at Sandown going 7F on good, sky is the limit. #7- The Lion in Winter (3-1) is the Lads and Aidan O'Brien with a Sea The Stars colt that also looked good winning over 7F at The Curragh. Bet it, don't bet it, but watch it!
EX- 6,7/3,5,6,7,8,10,11
YOR R3 (10:00am ET)- 1m4f (1m3f188y) Great Voltigeur Stakes (Group 2) (Colts & Geldings) (Class 1) (3yo) 6 runners
www.racingpost.com/racecards/107/york/2024-08-21/870564
If #5- King's Gambit (2-1) handles the step up in trip, I think he takes this over #1- Los Angeles (6-5) which may not want very fast ground. Euphoric should be the pace-setter.
YOR R4 (10:35am ET)- 1m2½f (1m2f56y) Juddmonte International Stakes (British Champions Series) (Group 1) (Class 1) (3yo+) 13 runners
www.racingpost.com/racecards/107/york/2024-08-21/870563
I'll try to beat #12- City Of Troy (4-5) which has acted on soft ground and may find this a different test today. #9- Bluestocking (7-1) could have taken the easier route in the Yorkshire Oaks tomorrow, but Beckett has steadfastly pointed her here, and it's hard to argue with a filly that has been progressive through her first ten races. Her clear second behind French-raider Goliath in the King George was very impressive, and she crumpled a field of f&m in the Middleton S. (GII) over C&D. #11- Calandagan (7-1) 3yo from Francis-Henri Graffard has slashed his way through four starts as a sophomore, taking down the King Edward VII S. (GIII) at Royal Ascot like there was much more in his tank. Gets 7lbs from older males, drew nicely just outside the favorite if he wants to track that one.
EX- 9,11/1,5,8,9,10,11,12
YOR R5 (11:10am ET)- 2m½f (2m56y) Stayers Handicap (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2) (3yo+) 17 runners
www.racingpost.com/racecards/107/york/2024-08-21/872988
2,9,11 look best, may try quinellas over three or four others if that bet is offered.
YOR R6 (11:45am ET)- 5f Fillies' Handicap (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2) (3yo+ 0-105) 15 runners
www.racingpost.com/racecards/107/york/2024-08-21/872989
#4- Miss Attitude (7-1) has been a consistent improver this year, drew out high so hopefully can get a pull into the race.
EX- 2,4/2,4,6,7,9,13
YOR R7 (12:20pm ET)- 6f Nursery Handicap (Class 2) (2yo) 17 runners
www.racingpost.com/racecards/107/york/2024-08-21/872990
Similar to race 5, wide-open with many possibilities. 1,4,7 on top in some wager.
Good luck if you play, and you should!
