Feature race is the 5F King George Stakes (GII) with 3yos Big Evs (BC Juv Turf Sprint winner) and Starlust (BCJTS 3rd) up against Asfoora (King Charles III [GI] winner at Royal Ascot), Believing (KCIII fourth), Live In The Dream (Nunthorpe S. [GI] winner 2023), and Ponntos (looking for four stakes wins in a row.)
GOING: GOOD TO FIRM (GoingStick: 7.7) (Partly cloudy)
GOO R1 (8:50am ET)- 2m4½f (2m4f97y) Goodwood Handicap (Class 2) (3yo+ 0-105) 19 runners
www.racingpost.com/racecards/21/goodwood/2024-08-02/872004
Watch the start, go make breakfast, butter your toast, and come back to watch the finish. Boxing three that have reasonably good form.
EXBOX- 2,4,13
GOO R2 (9:25am ET)- 1m Bonhams Thoroughbred Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (3yo) 9 runners

{Ice Max is a non-runner.)
#7- Lead Artist (5-1) Juddmonte-owned son of Dubawi has progressed nicely through three starts, finished behind Al Musmak at Newmarket on soft ground, taken to improve and reverse that form back on firm going. #9- Socialite (8-1) looks sneaky for Charlie Hills, also finished behind Al Musmak last time but should improve over the good-to-firm today.
EX- 7,9/6,7,9,10
GOO R3 (10:00am ET)- 1m Coral Golden Mile (Heritage Handicap) (Class 2) (3yo+) 18 runners

{Mirsky, Native Warrior, New Image are non-runners.}
Too many runners to do a full write-up, trying to favor those drawn in the inside half of the field. #3- Perotto (7-1) is improving for Roger Varian, nearly got there in the Royal Hunt Cup, back on good ground today. #12- Classic (10-1) looks interesting for Richard Hannon, drew a nice PP3 and has best form over good ground, son of Dubawi will have to race for luck from behind on the rail but might surprise them.
EX- 3,12/3,6,7,9,12,13
GOO R4 (10:35am ET)- 5f King George Stakes (Group 2) (Class 1) (3yo+) 12 runners

{Jasour is a non-runner.}
This is one tough race to handicap. #4- Believing (6-1) has been busy this summer, with four races since June, winning two including GII at the Curragh last time, which earned her a 3lb penalty. Five furlongs over good ground is her thing, gets young Billy Loughnane aboard for this. Should race prominently, and there is speed on both sides of her for a tow into the race. #9- Big Evs (7-2) was an impressively fast 2yo. They've raced him sparingly this year, with his bigger targets upcoming into the fall. Son of Blue Point has only eight starts, winning five, and may very well have more to give.
EX- 4,9/2,3,4,9
GOO R5 (11:10am ET)- 1m1f (1m1f11y) Bentinck Conditions Stakes (Class 2) (4yo+) 7 runners
www.racingpost.com/racecards/21/goodwood/2024-08-02/872003
{Liberty Lane is a non-runner.}
Very pleased to see #1- My Prospero (2-1) back at the races. Won here last season over 10F, and this is clearly a prep for future engagements, not a bunch of tomato cans he's facing here either. #2- Cicero's Gift (5-1) has been progressive through five starts, with four victories, logical alternative won here last year.
EX- 1,2/1,2,3,5
GOO R6 (11:45am ET)- 6f Nursery Handicap (Class 2) (2yo) 17 runners

GOO R7 (12:20pm ET)- 1m3f (1m3f44y) Handicap (Class 3) (3yo 0-90) 14 runners
