UK certainly has some truly gorgeous racecourses. This is one of them for sure.

GOO R1 (8:50am ET)- 1m2f (1m1f197y) Chesterfield Cup Handicap (Class 2) (4yo+) 17 runners www.racingpost.com/racecards/21/goodwood/2024-07-30/871984 #2- Enfjaar (3-1) is the co-highweight under Jim Crowley for Roger Varian, won his first two then was raced only sporadically as a 3yo, seems to have turned that corner as a 4yo winning both starts, including the $$ John Smiths Cup last time. Picks up 6lbs for that win but may still be ahead of the handicapper with only seven career starts. #12- Tony Montana (10-1) was third behind Enfjaar at York last out, gets good ground today which is his preference, Kingman colt will try to turn the tables on the top one, maybe from a forward position. EX- 2,12/2,12,14,17 GOO R2 (9:25am ET)- 7f Vintage Stakes (Group 2) (Class 1) (2yo) www.racingpost.com/racecards/21/goodwood/2024-07-30/871983Wide-open event where any of these could jump up and win. #4- Cool Hoof Luke (why?) (5-1) won smartly on debut then was close-up fourth in the Coventry S. (GII) at Royal Ascot. Expecting a forward move from Balding-trained runner in here. #7- Tiger Mask (15-1) has been highly progressive through three starts and tries stakes company for the first time, I'd be very surprised if he's not in the top three. M/L odds are just silly. EX- 4,7/2,3,4,5,7 TW

GOO R3 (10:00am ET)- 7f Lennox Stakes (Group 2) (Class 1) (3yo+) www.racingpost.com/racecards/21/goodwood/2024-07-30/870557Still think this should be a Group 1 race. #4- Kinross (5-2) has two wins and a second in this race, didn't put in much of a run in the July Cup last time but that was always a prep for a horse which runs better later in the season. Beckett/Ryan in great form, no excuses today. #5- Noble Dynasty (3-1) likes 7F on good-firm and gets it, looking for third in a row while stepping up in class, siding with Appleby here. EX- 4,5/1,3,4,5,7,8 TW

Best of luck to you this week, tenfurlongs, and ty for being the MC for us on these races Thanks MSD! Day one I got blanked but hopefully learnt about how the course is playing. A forward position into the long straight is a big advantage, although a few really good, stout closers made runs. Oddly, PP draw hardly seems to matter, short or long. They were expecting to water overnight as it had moved towards 8 on the going stick. Good-to-firm today, I'd expect. TW
