Five GI races, and the Balmoral Handicap to finish off the day. First declarations have been made, final fields should be in place on Thursday, I believe. Ground is currently Good-to-soft on the straight course, and Soft on the round course, but more rain is expected later in the week. If the ground goes to heavy, the three longer races would be moved to the inner turf (jumps) course, and many horses could be scratched (sound familiar?) Fingers crossed. Thanksfor posting. I will watch.
Kinross being chalk of his field, that looks like a good play against to me for the win. Although he looks impeccable on paper. Are we in for another shocker here? Or maybe Dettori learned something from his ride in the Qatar Prix de la Foret (where I played him to win).

Heavy rain and strong winds have been forecast for the track by the Met Office from Wednesday afternoon, with up to 30mm of rain due to fall in a six-hour period from 3pm. While Thursday’s forecast is less precise, in a worst case scenario there is the potential for a further 20mm of rain at Ascot.
Looking for heavy ground specialists, Facteur Cheval is one. Was told Inspiral and Tahiyra iffy.

Inspiral out as expected. Now expected to go to Breeders Cup . Big doubts still over participation of Mostahdef and Tahiyra

Great race! As they came around the final bend, I said to MadameBlum "Frankie hasn't asked his horse yet." Ryan Moore had been shaking up Kyprios for about two furlongs to make up all that ground, and when he went by you figured he wins as he pleases. But only then, Frankie got busy on Trawlerman, tipped him off the inside and had enough left for the win. Jockey won that one.

Totally agree with your assessment, Tom. Frankie's racing IQ won that one, taking nothing away from his horse, however. Couldn't have ended his career any better, IMO, despite what happens the rest of the day
Pretty awesome.

ASC R2- Sprint
#2- Kinross (even) is probably better at 7F, but that extra stamina should serve him well turning back. I see owner Marc Chan is there today to support Frankie. If someone beats him, maybe #7- Mill Stream (11-1) can do it. 3yo colt has been improving all season, wants soft ground, went okay against GI elders last time. Buick takes the reins today, price is right.

{edit: Vadream loves soft ground, and Ascot. Run to Freedom was second in this last year, watch out for Henry Candy!}

I’ve bet Art Power several times before since he always seems to run in these Group 1 sprints . Happy to see him win . He was due.

Of the older horses, I really like #6- Term of Endearment (12-1) despite the wide draw. She was a progressive 3yo, and has slowly come to hand this season. Henry De Bromhead doesn't waste starts. Among the 3yos, which are getting 6lbs., Bluestocking and French longshot Rue Boissonade are improving and should handle the ground.

Art Power dropped from 68-1 to 42-1 after breaking alone on top
Hit the 1st exacta—no 2nd—and usually play art power
On to 3rd… 1-2-8-9-14 xbox

Hoping to ride the wave of longshots with two that should love deep ground. #3- Facteur Cheval (17-1) is very consistent (12/5-3-3), loves these conditions, and has been bang there in three straight GIs. Wearing my Team Valor hat currently. #4- Big Rock (6-1) likes to go the front, also loves soft-heavy, gets 3lbs from elders and deserves his shot at GI glory.
WIN- 4 EX- 3,4/3,4,8,9,11

Last bet of the season (probably) in GB-
ASC R6 Balmoral H.
Couldn't use highweight #1- Migration (8-1) on top, but he likes heavy ground and goes well fresh. #4- Baradar (8-1) may be on fumes at the end, but also likes heavy and would be a nice double for Amo Racing. Buick aboard for Boughey. #6- Awaal (12-1) was second to Migration on heavy in the Lincoln Hcp to open the season, James Doyle back aboard.
