Good luck with your move! My only advice would be to find an establishment you are comfortable at and stay loyal. Since I live in NY, I typically get to Vegas no more than once or twice a year. I have 2 loyalty player cards one being Total Rewards which ties to the family that includes Caesars, Ballys, Flamingo etc. and I also have the B-Connected loyalty card for the Boyd properties as usually I am in town for the HPWS or other handicapping tournaments. Not a big player by any means, my loyalty to Boyd has resulted in my getting offered a minimum of 3 comped nights every month of the year at the Orleans as well as slot bonus plays and restaurant credits each visit. I was at the Orleans for the HPWS in March and got comped for 3 nights. I returned for 6 days in June to watch my son compete in some WSOP events and the Orleans comped me for all 5 nights that month. Find a place you like and stay loyal to it in order to maximize the perks that will tie to your play.

Hey Dell, given your new career might Vegas be a future home for you? You should be able to get as many shifts as you want in that town.

Larry, that is a fascinating thought... hmmmmm, I will have to look into that as a real possibility. Hey Halochef! You wouldn't happen to have a couch a fellow might be able to sleep on, would you?

Dell, there could be opportunities on the entertainment side for you too. Numerous local bands do a circuit of the couple dozen big houses that want to provide "live" lounge music 3-4 nights per week, You may find yourself with multiple options in "Sin City"!

I like your thinking, Mr. LaTour... Badactor working as Pari-Mutuel Clerk by day and Lounge Act by night. Sinatra, Bennett, Martin, Murray, and Yount.

QUESTION for halochef: Are you an actual chef de cuisine?
Inquiring minds want to know.

Speaking of CHEFS: UpInClass member and professional actor, Mr. Jerry Hauck, can be seen in the newest Honda commercial playing a chef!
Congratulations, Jerry... that's a nice spot. I hope it gets a good long run for you!

Dell, didn't realize a guest "who is not a member" can post to the board. Think maybe a good idea to modify the board so that's changed. (ie, the Not a guest...test was done by me(not logged in) to see if "Brownies and the political posting below" were done by other then a member. Makes things less confusing when reading a thread.

Eye,that brownie post is definitely from a member, maybe even one that has stayed or visited the Saratoga condo over the years. The more posts the better in my opinion, even if done by guests. We are a public forum. Hooper

I'm of the mind....if you post step up and say who you are. No need for a "mask" here.

Chef, got any easy menu ideas for a Breeders Cup house party? Hooper well buy a pork butt, season well, then cook covered in some broth for a few hrs 3-4~. let cool then shred w/ 2 forks and add you fav BBq sauce and buns and cole slaw and now you can have some pulled pork sandwitchs. OR saute' ground meat- add ketchup-chili sauce-sauteed green and red pepper, simmer for a while have some buns and you have "sloppy joes".. don't forget good ole sausage and peppers w/ marinara sauce!

doc, no harm no foul (brownies)...but the other thread in the basement is a cause for concern. Simple for anyone to just join the board(takes but a moment) We have many guests and they are appreciated and hopefully we offer up something that is informative and maybe entertaining at times. We welcome them to post, but I believe joining should be a prerequisite for doing so.
