10 stakes races at Ky Downs from today until next Thursday. Brown did not even nominate any of his horses for purses of $250K-$750K. Anyone have an answer, seems odd. Hooper

He used up all of his stakes caliber horses at Saratoga?
Haven't looked at KD too much yet, but it seems dominated mostly by Midwest/KY guys. May take a stab at the late p4 or p5.

They have some ungraded stakes and Grade 3s but I'm not sure sure if they have many, if any, Grade 2s or 1s. Could be his owners don't need the purse money and would rather enter in Grade 2s and 1s for the stallion/broodmare value. Just spitballin'.
The Ortiz brothers decided it was worth the money though.

Will say what nobody else wants to, but everyone's thinking it. More complete medication testing.

Entered 3 fillies in The Sands Point at BEL on Saturday and 2 fillies in The Canadian at Woodbine on Saturday. One or two of those would have fit somewhere at Ky Downs and been live for big $$. Hooper

Absolutely nothing to do with medication testing. If you are not running Kentucky breds at Kentucky Downs, you shouldn't be there. HALF the money in every race is KTDF and is for Ky Breds only. Why race for half the purse that everyone else is running for?
Hoop - out of those 5 horses only 2 are Ky Bred, but running for 400k in the Sands Point isn't too shabby when you just have to walk from your barn.
