Kind of a silly post but you know what a Crown of Thorns fan I am.
Well Assiniboia Downs had its first Crown of Thorns baby show up here a couple of weeks ago. Five year old mare from his first crop named A Song of Faith. Elton Dickey, the trainer that my daughter is working for, claimed her out of that race and ran her back last night. She rolled to a 12 length victory! Unfortunately she was claimed away from our barn but it was kind of a neat experience. Here is the win photo. Katie isn't in it because she grooms the second place horse in the race.

Good stuff Large. Enjoy those Crown of Thorns, they are becoming rare. He had 5 live foals in 2016 and 1 in 2017. Jockey Club has no reports of him being bred to thoroughbred mares in 2017,hence no live foals in 2018. Last I knew he was at Equistar Training Center in PA,probably as a sporting/event sire. Hooper

Hooper I’m sure you have seen this picture of Precisionist but I wanted to share it just in case. It was taken by the fabulous Barbara Livingston the day before he left us in 2006. Just a powerful picture of a really neat horse.

I was there the day Precisionist broke his maiden at Hollywood Park. Not many made that impression over the years.

Thanks Large. I have seen that photo many times. He was my all timer, got it done long or short without missing a beat. Even won after his stallion “career”. I’ve got some of his mane,a gift from Robin Martin of the old BloodHorse days when Precisionist was in Florida. Maybe we could clone him. I asked Chris McCarron once at Saratoga how fast he was and he just shook his head and said “wow”. I could see him reminiscing. Alex Cora

Thanks Hoop...I was sad to see on Barbara Livingstone’s twitter feed that Repent died in 2018. He was 19 and was at stud the last few years in Trinidad. Crown of Thorns was his highest money earner.

Hay Keith, you should enter the Claiming Contest. There’s a horse in the 4th at Gulfstream on Friday that you would love to have in your Stable !
