Birds Of A Feather.
What do all these people (Billy Joel, Kris Kristofferson, Chuck Berry and Bob Hope) have in common? They all tried the sport of boxing before finding their true talent.

In 1963 during a radio interview Gaylord Perry, and after Bob Gibson had just hit is 3rd homerun of the year, was asked if he had hit any homeruns in his career to date. He responded, "They'll put a man on the moon before I hit a home run." On July 20, 1969, a few hours after Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon, Perry hit his first, and only, major league career homerun.

Some times you just can't do enough for some people.
In 1963 the Houston Colts (Today's Houston Astros) called up minor leagued John Paciorek. In is first major game John made 5 plate appearances and collected 2 walks and 3 singles. That was also John's last major league appearance. It was the last game of the season and Houston chose not to give him a major league contract for the 1964 season.

109 errors? It happened!
One kid signed by the NYYs in 1948 was signed to play shortstop in the D league team in Kansas City. In the 2+ years he played SS he made 109 errors, 55 alone in 1949. He was a good hitter so they finally moved him to the outfield. His name was Mickey Mantle.

My wife just showed this in to me off Facebook. I'm not on FB but I might be missing some good one's by not being on it.
"I man went into a hobby shop and dipped his testicles into gold sparkles. That's pretty nuts!"
