Guitar lesson today. Mentioned Lucinda's Can't Let Go,she loves the song, we work it up in 10 minutes and played it twice. Nailed it. Good day.

Was an abstract question. Or was it? Just trying to get members to post a music video of something they can't let go of. Lover, addiction, job, family etc....

what is it you cant let go of? Any number of things...
love, heartache,
disappointment, betrayal...
just to name a few.
I am only now learning how to move forward. "Can't Let Go" but I gotta move on. True fact.
Dell.

Great song Bev! First heard this from the soundtrack of the movie Watchmen. Based on the graphic novel of the same name, I'm looking forward to this Sunday to catch the premier of Watchmen on HBO.

From the album Schoolboys in Disgrace, and the tour that produced my favorite concert of all of The Kinks shows that I have seen. As with so much of their music this song helped me through a difficult time in my life.
No More Looking Back The Kinks Walking along a crowded street I see thousands of faces before me. Then I see a face that I used to know Long ago in my life story. It starts me thinking about the things you said For your image is still inside me. The past is gone but in my head You're still walking along beside me. Is it something playing tricks with my eyes Or just an illusion deceiving me, Or is it someone in a disguise Or visions of things that used to be? But lately I've been going to All the places that we once knew, And just when I think that I am free of you I keep seeing the things that remind me of you, And just when I think you're out of my head I hear a song that you sang or see a book that you read. Then you're in every bar, you're in every cafŽ, You're driving every car, I see you everyday, But you're not really there ''cause you belong to yesterday. No more looking back, No more living in the past, Yesterday's gone and that's a fact, Now there's no more looking back. Got to be hard, Yeah, look straight ahead. That s the only way it's going to be, Yesterday's gone and that's a fact, Now there's no more looking back, Perhaps someday I'll stop needing you, Then maybe one day I'll be free of you. But lately I've been going to All the places that remind me of you. And just when I think you're out of my head I hear a record you played or see a book that you read. Then you're in every bar, you're in every cafŽ, You're driving every car, I see you everyday But you're not really there ''cause you belong to yesterday. No more looking back, No more living in the past. Yesterday's gone, that's a fact, Now there's no more looking back. No more looking back. No more living in the past. Yesterday's gone, that's a fact. Now there's no more looking back. Source: LyricFind Songwriters: Ray Davies No More Looking Back lyrics © Sony/ATV Music Publishing LLC

Sometimes you just have to cut bait. And no one does it better than Dylan.
You got a lotta nerve To say you are my friend When I was down You just stood there grinning
You got a lotta nerve To say you got a helping hand to lend You just want to be on The side that's winning
You say I let you down You know it's not like that If you're so hurt Why then don't you show it
You say you lost your faith But that's not where it's at You had no faith to lose And you know it
I know the reason That you talk behind my back I used to be among the crowd You're in with
Do you take me for such a fool To think I'd make contact With the one who tries to hide What he don't know to begin with
You see me on the street You always act surprised You say, "How are you?" "Good luck" But you don't mean it
When you know as well as me You'd rather see me paralyzed Why don't you just come out once And scream it
No, I do not feel that good When I see the heartbreaks you embrace If I was a master thief Perhaps I'd rob them
And now I know you're dissatisfied With your position and your place Don't you understand It's not my problem
I wish that for just one time You could stand inside my shoes And just for that one moment I could be you
Yes, I wish that for just one time You could stand inside my shoes You'd know what a drag it is To see you Songwriters: Bob Dylan

Don't bother crying, don't bother calling It's all over now, no use in stalling The love once I felt I don't feel anymore for you This time I'll even open the door for you You walked out when I was down Well, now I'm well off And look, look who's coming 'round Where were you when I needed ya Where were you when I wanted ya Where were you when I needed ya Where? You're looking good It's hard to fight it There's no use explaining I've already decided That living with you Is worse than without you I won't spend a lifetime a-worriying about you Things get rough and you disappeared Now I'm back on my feet And look, look who is standing there Where were you when I needed ya Where were you when I wanted ya Where were you when I needed ya Where? You were so young and you were so wild I knew you were nobody's innocent child The first day I saw you You really got to me I thought I could change you What good did it to me? Things got rough and you couldn't wait Now you're tripping back But babe, babe it's too late Where were you when I needed ya Where were you when I wanted ya Where were you when I needed ya Where? Is there a best divorce song? This is a candidate.
My bags are packed, I guess it's time for me to go. I can't say where I'm headed, 'cause I just don't know. When I think of what I'll be losing, It's hard to move along, But it's harder just to stay here, Knowing that I don't belong. I'll be in touch, don't worry, I'll be calling you. I've got no plans, I'm not sure where I'm going to. It's hard to keep from crying, After all that we've been through. I've taken everything I need, Now all that's left belongs to you. You take the photographs, the ones of you and me, When we both posed and laughed to please the family. Nobody noticed then we wanted to be free, And now there's no more love, It's just the property. It's hard to keep from crying, After all that we've been through. Now that it's all over, now that you and I are free, Now there's nothing left except the bit of property. Started off with nothing, started off just you and me, Now that it's all over you can keep the property. And all the little gifts we thought we'd throw away, The useless souvenirs bought on a holiday. We put them on a shelf, now they're collecting dust. We never needed them, but they outlasted us.
