Thursday night. Rain, wind low 50's up here with a nor'easter sitting off the coast if you are inclined to wager. Ugly game conditions.

Not sure there's much incentive for the Pats to cover a spread of 17, either, especially if their D keeps the Giants in check.

I don't know if they cover but they always seem to win...year after year after year.
So much so that even the wife was asking about why they always do well...and she doesn't even like football.
Dynasty for sure. Hope I live long enough to see a time when they no longer in a league of their own.

What the Patriots have done with a common draft starting at the bottom or near it every year and in the age of salary caps and free agency, is truly remarkable. I would argue that all things considered it is the greatest dynasty ever. Betterthan this e of the Celtics, Yankees, and Canadians, those which I would consider to be the other greatest sports dynasties (US based). I do not think they go all the way this year however. I don't know who will, but I think some other team will emerge playing well at the end of the year and with relative health. I think the reason New England took what seemed to be a real chance on Antonio Brown was because they felt they needed an extra weapon to put them over the top.

Tom has already thrown a couple of its and that could be the won't be running with the big dogs much longer. I think he's signed through next year and if he's continues to lose efficiencies there's a good chance he might hang it up then. If he does, the first thing you'll read is Jerry Jones offers Belichick 25 mil a year to coach the Cowboys.

When does Garropolo become a free agent? Maybe it coincides with Brady's retirement and Belichick gets what he wanted a couple years ago.

Jimmy Garoppolo signed through 2022, so really 2024 with the 2 franchise tag years, that will probably be a bargain.

With so many key offensive weapons out, I can't see the Giants hitting double digits, and possibly being shut out. -16.5 seems light to me I see a conservative ground game late while an easy cover

The way the Pats went about that last TD drive it sure looked like either Kraft, Belichick or Brady (maybe all three) had six figure bets on the Pats -17.

Rumor has it the Giants are tanking to get the first pick next year to grab the Alabama QB. The NFL is so screwed up. That new rule about challenging pass interference is a joke. I don't think it's worked one time sp far!

The Giants? They just spent a 6th overall pick on Daniel Jones and seem happy with him. That seems unlikely.

lol Giants hardly played like they were tanking last night D was worn down after being on the field for 40+ minutes maybe? 2 NE tds on turnovers + 3 picks I would rather have jones than the Bama qb
Spank should be more concerned about the Sooners coming to town!

That NE defense is already good and likely to get better as the season progresses...the rest of the NFL should be worried.
The Bills also have a nice defense this year so should make the playoffs as a wildcard...Bills play in superbowl with last minute P6 victory over NE? Book it.

not to be a pita but the canadiens arent us based. That's fair but the NHL has a majority of US teams including 4 of the original 6.

On a belated note to spider, Texas v OU was disappointing for UT fans but it was a good game. As usual, many OU players hail from Texas. The OU defense is impressive and the Sooners could be a dark horse in the big picture...
