Doncaster 9:25- 7f Park Stakes (Group 2) (Class 1) (3yo+)
Turjomann is out, leaving five runners. #1- Sir Dancealot (4-1) 5yo was found a cut below at GI level, has reinvented himself as a GII 7F specialist. Won the Lennox S. at Goodwood on top form, had excuses in last two including a fifth behind Shine So Bright. Don't dismiss. #3- Shine So Bright (7-5) 3yo showed quality as a 2yo, ran fifth in the Two Thousand Guineas over a testing mile, took a break and returned with the aforementioned win in York GII over top filly Laurens. Will need to at least repeat that effort to take this down.
WIN- 1
Doncaster 10:00- 7f Champagne Stakes (Group 2) (Colts & Geldings) (Class 1) (2yo)
#1- Threat (4-5) has two wins and two seconds in four starts, last three in GII company. Stretches out and should take a lot of beating. #3- Juan Elcano (4-1) was second in GII at Newmarket when last seen, son of Frankel is loaded with promise, as is #4- Royal Crusade (7-2) Godolphin colt which won debut at Newmarket last month at 4-5.
EX- 1/3,4
Doncaster 10:35- 1m6½f St Leger Stakes (Group 1) (British Champions Series) (Colts & Fillies) (Class 1) (3yo)
Strong renewal of this classic. #2- Il Paradiso (7-1) faced older in last two at Cup distances, only beaten 1 1/4L by Stradivarius at York. Upset special! #3- Logician (even) is the heavy favorite off his undefeated, quickly progressing form. Son of Frankel won Great Voltigeur S. last time over Constantinople, but stretches out, goes up in class so he's no cinch. #5- Sir Dragonet (3-1) is another A. O'Brien entry, beaten less than a length in Epsom Derby, but an unimpressive fourth upon return at the Curragh. Mixed signals. #6- Sir Ron Priestly (8-1) has won 5-of-6 this term, takes a big step up in class but will like the distance and the good-to-firm going. #1- Dashing Willoughby (15-1) wasn't embarrassed in last two against older including against Stradivarius, his victory in the Queen's Vase at Royal Ascot has stuck in my mind since then. A player on his best.
WIN- 2 EX- 3/1,2,5
