I earned TWO Free Entries to the Beat Byk Online Challenge hosted on HorsePlayers.com. This contest is an online qualifier that will take place on Saturday, September 14. The Beat Byk Challenge is an online qualifier consisting of mythical win-place wagering on 12 selected races. The winner will be awarded a 2020 National Horseplayers Championship berth, a complimentary four-night stay at Bally’s Las Vegas and a $400 airfare reimbursement. You MUST be a member of the 2019 NHC Tour prior to the start of the contest to win the NHC prize package. Winning the free entries also included an invitation to join the NHC Tour for $1 ONE DOLLAR... perfectly in my price range. I JOINED & I'M IN! This contest is Pick & Pray. ALL selections must be made prior to the scheduled post time of the first race. www.horseplayers.com/contest/500744.

Best of luck to you Dell. Mr. Byk posted on another forum that the 12 contest races will be announced on Thursday.
I'll see you in the starting gate with my 2 entries (along with about 1500 of our closest friends ).

my estimates suggest that there are about:
400 or so individuals with 3 potential entries 600 or so individuals with 2 potential entries 950 or so individuals with 1 potential entry
I wouldn't waste much time handicapping for this one. Focus on befriending lady luck and hope she decides to pick you.

That is a super effort, Bill. And, yes, better to be lucky than good any day...especially in large handicapping contests like this one. I think my best entry was in the top 250 so I was neither good nor lucky

Two UIC’rs in the top 15, that is awesome guys! I know it sucks to get that close and not win, but keep at it and it’ll break your way. Nice tour points too!

Nice job, Otis. An amazing performance.
Not sure about tour points being handed out in this contest...thought there had to be at least 2 NHC spots on the line for points to be in play. Maybe Eric knows more about it than I do.

I came in 4th....just as good as coming in 1687 You're right in that regard but your finish was one hell of a great effort and was nothing to sneeze about. It's unfortunate that these free contests are for the most part a waste of time. They offer very little and as you have witnessed, it's all about luck. Years ago BRIS had free contests that awarded the top 20 finishers some sort of prize. Today, it's all about promoting "Pay" contests. Everything is a business. It's all about the buck. There's no free lunch.
