Opening day of the British Champions Series featuring the GI Sprint Cup. Nice card of various ages, classes and distances.
Haydock 8:50- 1m6f Betfair Exchange Handicap (Class 2) (3yo)
Like best:#1- First in Line (5-2) hasn't missed the exacta in four career starts. Won over soft ground. Close second in a rich hcp at York going this distance last time. Gosden/Dettori. #5- Moon King (5-1) has won five in a row, including a C&D win two back. Handles all types of ground; going is listed as soft today.
Can't rule out: #4- Calculation (6-1) winner of three straight, including C&D and over soft ground. Sir Michael Stoute/Ryan Moore/ The Queen. She does have cool silks. #6- Laafy (10-1) stepped up nicely in a hcp vs. older last time going the distance over heavy ground, improving sort might be the one with the most upside. The other Stoute. #10- Zoffee (15-1) has rounded into form over last three races, stretches out but could hit the board at a nice price.
EX- 1,5/1,4,5,6,10
Haydock 9:25- 1m Betfair Exchange Superior Mile Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1) (3yo+)
Miss O Connor and What's The Story are out, leaving a field of six.
Like best: #4- Sharja Bridge (5-2) knocked heads unsuccessfully in GI-company in last two, should find the competition more favorable today. Grop II-placed this April, beating Regal Reality. FTG on return from mid-June layup.
Can't rule out: #3- Raising Sand (6-1) has been running in rich hcps vs. huge fields this season, should also find this an easier task. 7F might be his best distance, but has won at a mile. #7- Great Scot (8-1) has also been running in Group-company all year getting smaller awards, 1 1/4mi was too far two races back, another one who may be best suited to 7F.
WIN- 4 EXBOX- 3,4,7

Haydock 10:00- 1m Ascendant Stakes (Listed Race) (Class 1) (2yo)
Like best: #6- Subjectivist (4-1) is a consistent sort who likes the course and handles off going. #8- Sesame Birah (3-1) hasn't run a bad one in five tries, stretches out today and gets the services of Ryan Moore, which will lower his odds considerably I'd imagine.
Can't rule out: #1- He's A Keeper (10-1) has taken a lot of early money after his C&D, soft ground, open-lengths win in August. Acid test today. #4- Shared Belief (8-1) ran third in a rich French hcp last time, might be this good.
EX- 6,8/1,4,6,8
Haydock 10:35- 1m6f Betfair Exchange Old Borough Cup Handicap (Class 2) (3yo+)
Theglasgowwarrior is out.
Like best: #1- Corelli (5-1) only poor performance came at Royal Ascot when asked to go too far. Headed for the win last two, beat him to get the money. Gosden/Dettori. #5- Not So Sleepy (15-1) has been rounding into form all season, handles soft going and might surprise in this heat. #8- Alright Sunshine (7-1) lightly-raced 4yo is a model of consistency, steps up to the big leagues today but looks to handle it with aplomb.#10- Time to Study (10-1) is a soft ground specialist, has faced some good ones this year, do not ignore.
EXBOX- 1,5,8,10

Haydock 11:10- 6f Betfair Sprint Cup Stakes (Group 1) (British Champions Series) (Class 1) (3yo+)
Race lost much of its lustre with the scratches of the two favorites, Advertise and Ten Sovereigns, leaving a field of eleven.
Like best: Taking a stand against most of the older, established Group-company sprinters in here. #11- Fairyland (15-1) and #12- Forever in Dreams (20-1) are both accomplished 3yo fillies running at their best distance today. Big ask, but fast is fast. #6- Walfpfad (15-1) is intriguing, German runner shipped in to take GIII at Newbury two back over soft ground in dress rehearsal, today is the show. Big chance. #3- Invincible Army (15-1) faltered last time in France, previous efforts this year point him out.
EXBOX- 3,6,11,12
Good luck with all of today's wagers!

Going to try Invincible Army in the Sprint Cup. 15-1 ML and cheek pieces on. Working well. Hooper
Mercurial Invincible Army (Ire) (Invincible Spirit {Ire}) is tried in cheekpieces for the first time by trainer James Tate and if he can reproduce his best form after a disappointing 13th in the Maurice de Gheest he could feature. And he got a bump when he was challenging. HIS LAST PIECE OF WORK WAS THE BEST HE’S DONE ALL YEAR, SO WE’RE VERY HOPEFUL James Tate on Invincible Army
