Anyone watching? Vandy looks tough. Texas Tech still hanging in. Shame that the weather isn't cooperating. I still don't like hearing that sound of a metal bat. Why and when did they go to the metal? There's a salty pitcher from Amarillo on the Mississippi St. team (I think). Anyone ever attend a game in Omaha?

The sound of the metal bats can be disconcerting, however these pack no more punch than the wooden ones and are a cost saving measure for the teams.
My Hogs are already back home after their 2nd trip to Omaha in as many years. Last years team was solid and we lost many good players. We rebuilt and over-achieved to make it back this year.
Whoo. Pig. Sooie!

Tough beat Tim. I get the cost savings of metal vs. wood but it's just the sound. Seems to me that college sports of nearly all kinds spend $ on so many other things that they could trim the cost on. Just my take. Arkansas did overachieve perhaps but for me it just doesn't seem right to not see the Longhorns in Omaha.

Hey Chaz- you are a fellow M-fan? What a story this year's team has been, from one of the last four in to playing in the final series. First baseman Jim Kerr is 3rd generation M baseball. His grandad was on Mich's last national champions in the 1960s and his dad played with Barry Larkin on Mich's last CWS team in the 1980s.

Off subject but I just watched an interesting documentary about "White Boy Rick". I must say that Michigan has to be one of the worst states as far as political corruption is concerned as well as state government and police corruption! I flew into Detroit for a one day business trip years ago and was not impressed. Not to say it's a "bad" state but from Micheal Moore's documentary's to the rotten water it just seems like a state in constant chaos. Just sayin'...lol...I encourage anyone to watch "White Boy Rick".

Always loved the helmets in football. I am actually driving to Omaha in the morning to watch the championship series. The boys are playing real well right now but Vandy is a tough team. Any chance you will be attending??

Michigan +180 vs Vandy -210 in tonight's series opening game. O/U is 9 at -115.
I didn't mean to trash the state of Michigan per say. Just a flash reaction after watching that show. The Wolverine football helmets are rather odd but so are many others. The whole Bo vs.Woody thing was a great story that played out in an interesting way. I never pulled for or against either (unless I had a wager) but that game takes me back to my youth. Nearly always a trip to the Rose Bowl for the victor in that game back then. I'm sure spider can add much more from the OSU side of this rivalry...

I usually root against Michigan once a season(depending on where my $$ lies). I honestly want them to be undefeated when the Buckeyes beat them. I don't think Urban Meyer ever lost to them. OSU has a good streak going, knock on wood. Urban is gone.....

Chaz- we are kindred spirits. Won't be there except vicariously. I know you must have thoroughly enjoyed last night (I think I heard you cheering). Tonight would be a shock given the pitching situation but we have guaranteed at least a game three.

Agreed Shoes!!! I hate the pitching match-up tonight but if we play solid defense and get some timely hits then who knows?? If we can close it out tonight I might just storm the field with the boys!!!! HAHAHAHA
