It seems they would want to keep their help happy, I just don't know about people sometimes.

I'm thinking there will be other backstretch employees working for other stables who say "wait a minute, that's me in that lawsuit".
Tip of the iceberg for backstretch workers?

I wouldn’t be surprised if this opens a real can of worms. Ever notice when on the back side in the barns, most of the workers hide thrivfaces or scramble to get out of any horsey photos? Had to explain that to my grandchildren....

From DRF. Several other New York trainers have acknowledged that they are under audit by the Department of Labor, including Kiaran McLaughlin, Gary Contessa, and George Weaver. Another, Linda Rice, paid a $110,000 settlement last year, she said on Thursday. Hooper

A lot of east coast trainers under the gun. Is this a regional only inquiry to employer practices in the training industry? Now that the box has been opened, most logical course is for this to spread to other jurisdictions.

It's been a few years since I've heard of one or more of Assmussen's horses being found with illegal drugs in it's body. Do you think he's cleaned that part up of his operation? He always had the same response when one got caught. "I don't know how those drugs got in that horse. I know I didn't put them in there."

I have always assumed that almost all are juicers. That way I will only be wrong about a few. Obviously there was a lot of pressure @ SA to run horses in order to increase field size and to fill races. If SA and Del Mar go back to artificial, their racing will become more isolated imo, and the class will still have to come east to run on dirt. Sad to see Cal.racing at this level. Hopefully Del Mar has a great meet!
