FUN IS... going to the race track to watch one of your contest horses race. (Even if he runs second... Union Station @ Los Alamitos)

It's been a while since this thread has had any activity, so I thought I'd update it. I had restocked my stable in anticipation of a busy weekend and was rewarded with a bunch of points.
Received the following message from Godolphin this morning:
"Congratulations! Your Fantasy Stable performed well and earned you the following points:
• Alms (USA) - 300 points • Final Frontier (USA) - 250 points • Line of Duty (IRE) - 200 points • Maxfield (USA) - 500 points • Moonlight Spirit (IRE) - 300 points"
Added to that was a Group 1 win by Victor Ludorum at Longchamps today for an additional 500 points, and I was able to improve from 847th place with 4030 points up to 429th place with 6080 points. This helps overcome some rookie mistakes that I made earlier in the contest such as not finding a way to add Pinatubo when her talent became obvious to all.
Since my entire stable ran in the past three days, no activity is anticipated from this group until perhaps the very end. The trick will now be to find the proper time to make the final changes and then hope for another stroke of good fortune.

wow jolyb, 1500+ points...MONSTER weekend! I restocked a while ago and was making progress but some of my top runners posted 5-9 place finished and I stalled (lost ground) for about a month. Just hit one with Halimi to get me to Your ranking 377 Diablo313 7100 Just one swap left so gotta find some top plays to close out BC weekend... good luck everyone (the rest of the way and even more with your real BC plays!)

I'm tapped out, no more swaps and probably no Bc runners.
Getting the hang of this, alas , too late.

5Wide, that is a very impressive placing and total. Very well played. You say that you are getting the hang of this too late, but it appears you got the hang of it early enough to get a comfortable lead on the rest of us.
I currently have 7380 points and am in 350th place. That requires a lot of catching up.

I agree, the "getting the hang of it was tricky" but looks like 5wide was a quick study....one swap left but not sure its even possible to get close....

Thanks for the kind words guys, but i'm 5000 points off the leader, so lots of improvement needed. Hopefully the lessons learned will result in a better finish next year.

The contest is over so who won the UIC Group and the $50 Otis Special.?
Not me for sure as 5980 points only got me 562nd place.
Interestingly enough I know the overall winner , Abdul Ahad , who is a handicapper in Dubai . His local knowledge was obviously a great advantage!

As with most contests I never keep up. Thought the contest ended at the end of the calendar year. Had a couple of stable changes left that I never used. Same with the Superbru contest and the Thurs night and London games. 6710 points 432nd place

Reload for the BC was a flop, started with Maxfield dropping out and went downhill from there. Still a ton of fun playing, and better understand for next time! Your ranking 365 Diablo313 7180
Thanks for queuing this up Cherokee!

Had a complete bust on BC weekend, and finished with the following:
Points: 7380 Ranking: 348
It took a while for me to figure out some strategies for the stable changes, but it was still a lot of fun and gave me an appreciation of the world wide reach of this one very wealthy stable.
Bev, thanks for hosting this competition.

5 Wide was 200th with 8860 so it does look like TC has won.
Tony let me know when you want to place the $50 bet .
Let’s do this again next year !

Firstly, thank you Bev for the Go Dolphin stable prize. You always seem to come through with prizes here at UIC for a variety of contests and I'm certain the community appreciates your generosity! I know I do. I say we do the following...put the $50 on riflescope's nose the next time that old campaigner runs. You will certainly know better than I when that happens. If he should reward us with a winning effort then I propose that my portion of the Otis Special be used as funding for future contests here at UIC. Let me know if that sounds good to you...and thanks again for your ongoing contest sponsorship and overall class.

Tony, Riflescope is running In the National Day Cup at Abu Dhabi on Sunday. Very competitive race but at least you will get good odds. Race is #5 on the card and goes off at 10am (EST) . You can watch it on the Dubai Racing Channel streaming link www.awaan.ae

Hey Tony ,could not find anyone to take a bet , although I’m sure Spanky’s bookie would have given me even money. Anyway he ran sixth which earned us decent cash on a trip that’s too long for him and we live to fight another day so your bet is still alive.
